BlackKklansman is based on the story of Ron Stallworth, a black Colorado detective who infiltrated a chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s and later wrote a book about the experience.
But in the midst of today's Black Lives Matter movement Riley argues that Lee's film changed historical events to portray police officers as heroes fighting racism and claims the real-life Ron Stallworth is the true 'villain'.
