Well, the rain would be nice, but you sure don’t need any more of that kind of violence. Very lucky one of those big branches didn’t hit the house or other outbuildings!

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

HARRY WARREN

“ROSE OF THE RIO GRANDE”

Sidney was a soprano sax player and a brawler, having once shot a man over an argument about music. He came out of New Orleans but settled in Paris during le jazz hot in the Thirties. This is a classic Dixieland arrangement from 1953.

Rain’s fine, and a little lightning, too, but not STRONG winds blowing things over. We had a little rain and lightning late this afternoon and that was pleasant.

We were lucky twice last night. That one huge limb barely missed the pump house and one out front barely missed taking out the power line that runs from the road to the house.

The phone line got knocked out somewhere around here and that wasn’t fixed today. Might have been knocked out by a tree in the area. I haven’t been anywhere today but Hubby took a little “tour” and said there’s wind damage all around.
