Yes, the left does not or refuses to recognize they are their own punch line these day with all their bleating and whining. But, I'm sure there are a few folks in portland that are not laughing but are "stuck" either by family ties or financial reasons. Sadly, it seems much of the left coast is in the same situation.

From what I have seen of the Portland police regarding Antifa and the others, they don’t put up with it.

Apparently the left likes to “burn” their own neighborhood, be they black or white.
They would not want to try their antics in Louisville. Too many of us carry in our cars, and if we are in fear of serious physical harm (rioters would tend to do that) we have a right to use deadly force - and will.

We lived in Portland in the late 80’s, to mid 90’s....it was a great place then. Now (we’re an hour away now)...we avoid it.

I used to say, those who thought Berkeley was too conservative, moved to Portland.
Portland is popular for two reasons.
Drugs...
and if you can’t get layed in Portland, you probably are not breathing.

Very good article. Also, the TV show "Portlandia" is mentioned. I have that available to stream on my Netflix but never bothered because I figured it would be a celebration of leftism. Yet the article states that the show makes fun of leftism.
If Freepers can corroborate that, I might check out the show after all.

It may make fun of leftism the way “All in the Family” did back in the 70s, that is, unintentionally.
I’ve never seen it, so I honestly don’t know, I’m just conjecturing.

LOL! I was too skerred to watch it. But, maybe I’ll have a look someday. I thought it might be a celebration of the portland insanity. Knowing the media I’m pretty skeptical.

my dtr lives there now...in an old area with houses from the 40's and 50's and they love it....they love the restaurants especially....they're liberal minded but not extreme, but I suspect their friends are over the top...
hey, they have good Goodwills there....and then there's the "bins"....

The first few seasons did make fun of Portland, however once Netflix renewed the series, it became unwatchable. This is a pattern with shows ‘revived’ by Netflix, such as Gilmore Girls and Longmire. They ruin the show, usually after the show has it’s series ending episode.

Its funny and to my mind, it mocks the Left. Maybe Im wrong, maybe its some sort of virtue signaling by the Left. Anyway, the Feminist Bookstore skits are hilarious.

Portlandia was pretty good in the early seasons but I can’t speak to the Netflix version. It did a fine job of mocking the leftists in a humorous way.

Wow, that clip was funny as hell. I am definitely putting that show on my watchlist.
The son that walked into the store...he looks just like Flounder from Animal House.
