They claim inaction on climate change has blighted their future - just one of many challenges now hitting the courts. And they might just succeed.
HIGH-SCHOOL student Aji Piper goes snowboarding in the mountains behind Seattle but for how much longer, he wonders. Miko Vergun fears her native Majuro atoll in the Marshall Islands in the Pacific could soon be under water. In Alaska, Nathan Barings friends can no longer hunt for seals because the ice is too thin. Nine-year-old Levi Draheim, who lives in low-lying, coastal Florida, says of his president: Its scary having someone in the White House who doesnt believe in climate change.
All four are among 21 young people self-described climate kids who will head for a district court in Eugene, Oregon, in October. Over several weeks, they will face off against federal government lawyers. The plaintiffs will accuse the Trump administration and its predecessors of decades of deceit and wrong-headedness in handling climate change, and will seek an order compelling Washington to devise a plan that will halt and reverse it.

Some of the 21 young people taking the US government to court over climate change
If these kids go to public school, the taxpayers should sue the state government for their money back.
Obviously this expensive operation is not being done with the kids’ own money. It is Soros tweaking, I presume. He can finance such nonsense out of the money he keeps in his top desk drawer for doughnuts and coffee.
Another bunch of idiots that think Planet Earth is the size of their Cat’s Litter Box
The lawsuit got thrown out of court today.
I assume they walked to DC, eating only scavenged nuts and berries along the way. Why aren’t they wearing the skins of animals who died of old age?
Why aren’t they suing their selfish parents for not using their abortion choice and instead deciding to bring another energy-consumer, carbon-creator into the world?
I would be more interested in someone suing the fed for allowing the homeless to exist, who are more of an environmental blight than “global warming.” The suit should be for institutionalization, imprisonment or eradication through euthanasia as an environmental hazard in violation of the Clean Water Act and other federal laws.
I did not feel like paying to read the rest of this BS,but I have two questions:
1. Who’s paying for this?
2. Who is organizing this?
It would be interesting if the US Gov, under Trump, pushed this forward full speed, get it into court, and force these people to put up or shut up. That is, they need to prove their claims.
They cannot sue based on fear alone. There must be verifiable scientific proof of their claims that goes beyond junk science.
There are South American countries that actually do or have done this.
I imagine there’s a lot of emotional incontinence within that crowd of kids right now.
Don’t forget the very wealthy environmentalist in California who thinks that he can singlehandedly shut-down the Petroleum and natural gas industries.
Based on his/her size, their lucky it didn’t capsize...
There is a bunch of characters that like to throw money at the courts to make headlines.
That's cute. Nine year olds are brilliant. That's the age where they've just stopped eating paste and are just about to start on Tide Pods.
Their Case was dismissed. Thrown out.
Where they hand picked like Boy Bands ?
It shows the left has has infected these kids and taught them they can use the courts to bypass the legislative process. It bodes bad things for the future. The founders fell short in protecting us from this, the reality is 5 unelected people can overrule the will of millions of people. At some point Trump may be forced to tell one of those renegade Judges to stuff it. Then we are realy going to see some fireworks.
