CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — New Yorkers who call 911 on law-abiding people of color are committing hate crimes and should be prosecuted, according to a state senator who was recently reported to police for campaigning in his own district.
State Senator Jesse Hamilton, who represents Brownsville, Crown Heights and Flatbush, proposed new legislation a week after a self-described Trump fan called police to report him for speaking to constituents in public. It would criminalize 911 calls against people of color without evidence of malice.
"That's gonna be a hate crime," Hamilton said. "This pattern of calling the police on black people going about their business and participating in the life of our country has to stop."

Sorry, I couldn’t call 911 when I saw that man shooting a crowd of people, I had no evidence he did it out of malice.

If we dinnsee nuffin and they dindu nuffin then if we have our guns confiscated and our loved ones are in danger from a home invasion and we cannot make a 911 call because the teens breaking in are persons of color armed with guns,a machete,a sap, lengths of rope and plastic handcuffs (what’s that term for them?)——then what?

I hate to follow you around FR today - which it looks like I’m doing - but I figured I would drop in on this one too.
New York isn’t part of America. And the Catskill mountains don’t make it that way. The Hudson river doesn’t make it that way.
The trees of Rye and the buildings of Ithaca don’t make it that way.
That incredible marvel in the south called the City doesn’t make it that way either. Nor the subway, the train, the airports or the bridges.
The people make it that way. New Yorkers are the worst. Well, New Jerseyites are the worst, but New Yorkers are certainly tied.
Then what’s the alternative to calling the police to deal with crime? Oh yea, taking care of if yourself.
Not a smart proposal.
