As would be expected, the loss of Brennans security clearance was the first thing anchor Lester Holt got to during NBC Nightly News. It looks a lot like payback tonight for some former senior government officials who have spoken out against President Trump, he bitterly declared. The President yanking the security clearance for former CIA boss John Brennan today accusing him of using his access to sow division and chaos at the White House.
Unprecedented, White House correspondent Kristen Welker proclaimed at the start of her report. President Trump tonight revoking the security clearance of one of his harshest critics, career intelligence official and former CIA Director John Brennan, whos also an NBC News analyst. Of course, she omitted how under his leadership the CIA spied on U.S. Senators and hacked their computers, then lied about it under oath.

Absolutely, Brennan just lost his part time job.
CALL THE WHAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBULANCE.
God bless President Trump!
I had a security clearance well above TS for over 30 years. The day I retired my clearance was terminated. What part of NEED TO KNOW is unclear? Whenever they have needed to talk with me about any of my previous work there are ways to do it. What a bunch of whining morons!
Yes, and every job I’ve ever left allowed me to keep my user name and password, so I could access the company’s network and files, download whatever I wanted, go in and snoop around, etc. Yeah, that happens. It’s incredibly telling that the media isn’t asking why he still had the clearance, if he no longer worked in the government. What was his “need to know”?
For the record, and lest we forget.....
NBC = Comcast
Comcast is an American enemy more dangerous than russia of Iran or North Korea
Comrade Brennan should never have had a clearance in the first place.
What does that have to do with security clearance?
Other than preventing contact with enemies domestic who held security clearances, violated the national trust and quit or were fired.
One would have to be a functional moron to expect to keep their security clearance, as well as anyone supporting the absurdity.
Exactly. Security clearance and a person’s right to criticize are unrelated.
.
Well, it is unprecedented!
The precedent is Jail time for his crimes.
LOLOL, bitter NBC knows Traitor Brennan is totally screwed and there’s nothing they can do about it.
well you should have. Many ex-military and National Security veterans have.
I happened to read a half dozen books recently about WW2 against the Japanese and the decade or two preceding it.
That involved the history of Flying Boats, the role of PanAmerican Airways in preparing for the attack by the Japanese which was just a matter of time, and the unrevealed events against Japanese spies and sneak attacks (pre-Pearl Harbor) which failed.
Old fashioned Patriotism prevented military service persons from that era from revealing National Security events that they participated in or witnessed many decades after that war and until they day they died. This includes much that happened 90 years ago, which even today is not accessible by Americans from the National Archives.
Today, the insanity of political correctness and naked stupidity makes that no longer possible; hence this thread, as an example, and the whining by Enemies Domestic losing their security clearances.
I hope this ends up generating a government wide policy that upon severance from Fed. service ALL security clearances are revoked. A new security clearance must be applied for and re-certified every two years. There must also be a national security need for the new clearance to be issued.
Wanting to be a talking head in the media is not a national security need.
Agree. When I retired from the reserves, my need to know ended, and my security clearances ended with it. It wasn’t the desire of the Government to silence me, it was the reality that I had no more need to have access to information that I needed to perform my assignment. And as for me, I don’t miss having a clearance.
Because of the volume of people who may have need for a clearance, it might be difficult to try to re-certify everyone on a two year basis. Upon leaving government or military service it should be automatic that the clearance should be pulled. That being said, at some point President Trump will be out of office. It would be prudent to continue his clearance as a means to assist a new President in matters President Trump has detailed knowledge about.
Based on his background, he should not have been granted a clearance. It’s disgusting.
The WH explanation could have been as simple as, “We think having an employee of a press outlet with a TS security clearance an unnecessary risk and we yanked it.”
What classified info would NBC have a RIGHT TO KNOW?
Brennan’s clearance was classified as inactive the
day he left his government employed position.
Revoking it slams the door shut on his gaining
another government job where a clearance is required.
NBC is howling more fake outrage.
NBC had no need to know ANYTHING that was classified. They are going to have to find out the old fashioned way with snitches and traitors.
