Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced from the daily briefing Wednesday afternoon President Trump has revoked the security clearance of former CIA director John Brennan and is considering doing the same for other politically motivated, former officials.
"I have also begun to review the more general question of the access to classified information by former government officials," Sanders said on behalf of President Trump. "As part of this review, I am evaluating action with respect to the following individuals: James Clapper, James Comey, Michael Hayden, Sally Yates, Susan Rice, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr. Security clearances for those who still have them may be revoked, and those who have already their lost their security clearance may not be able to have it reinstated."
Former DNI director James Clapper, who regularly criticizes President Trump as a contributor for CNN, is responding to the revocation of Brennan's clearance and argues the move is an infringement on free speech.
Will the republic stand or fall on whether John retains his access to classified information, or mine or any others that were named? Of course not. The larger issue here, to me, has been infringement on First Amendment rights," Clapper said during an interview with the network. "I think people ought to think seriously about that. Infringement of our right to speak, and apparently, the appropriateness of being critical of this president.

Hey, asshole, isn’t that what you’re doing right this second? So how are you infringed?
Nobody is “infringing on your first amendment rights”... it is stupid statements like that that get your security clearance pulled.
Feel free to speak whatever you want - except not classified info. You just no longer have access to new info.
“just itching to reinstate Brennans clearance..”
The judge can’t. Not even the supreme court can. The judicial branch of the government cannot force the recovery or assignment of a security clearance.
Executive Order 10450, signed into legislation by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on April 17, 1952, gives certain United States agencies the legal right to determine who is trustworthy enough to have access to sensitive government information. Executive Order 10450 was signed into legislation by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on April 17, 1952. Each government agency that provides top secret clearance has the obligation to ensure that recipients are loyal to the United States, display good character and conduct, and pose no threat to national security.
Only federal government agencies can provide someone with top secret security clearance. These include federal law enforcement agencies (DEA, NCIS, FBI and Secret Service personnel), intelligence gathering agencies (NSA and CIA), diplomatic agencies (State Department) and civilian military agencies (DIA and DSS). Certain organizations such as research facilities and think tanks can also provide top secret security clearance, but only if they have a contract with a federal agency that is authorized to provide the clearance. And they still must have the “need to know” to get access to sensitive information commensurate with the level of clearance. Even the president must have a need to know to harvest sensitive information at any level.
Brennan currently serves as a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. He does not need a clearance for anything. He is not a government employee and if he tries to use a former clearance, he can be arrested for espionage.

REVOKE THEM ALL!!
If you no longer hold a position in government at any level your security clearance should be revoked.
No need for Clapper to rap about losing his First Amendmant rights.
Clapper is still free to yap with Tapper until they drop him in the crapper.

Trump's got an enormous task ahead of him. Draining the Swamp will probably take well past his two terms.
What's been done so far is Triage and hot topics which needed immediate attention. However, the first 12 months were taken up in discovery - discovery of who he can REALLY trust in the Beltway (they are few).
I’d tell The Clap to bite me but I don’t want to have to get shots.
I hear ya. LOL!
Why does Obama have clearance? Or does he?
No, I think he thinks he's being punished by the government for exercising his 1st rights.
He may have a point but I'm not really feeling sorry for him.
Clapper is a liberal flake. Not only should his clearance be revoked, but all of the people who approved his clearance should have their clearances revoked!!!
If they wanted to keep their clearances they should have adhered to protocol followed by all of his predecessors, which entails no criticism of the current administration. It is their own fault they lost clearances for not keeping their mouths shut.
Personally I think these guys should be in jail for lying to Congress and violating the Fourth Amendment and other laws restricting collection of data on US citizens.
Holy smokes look at that list, why the hell do any of these seditious bastards have sec clearence?
Free speech? Is he serious
You bet it is, my FRiend. :^)
Daddy’s Home!
What was Bernnan using his clearance for?
Did 0bama revoke any?
When I left the service, my security clearance was gone.
