OTTAWA - More than one hundred municipal wastewater systems did not report how much raw sewage overflowed from their pipes in 2017 but Environment Canada is only investigating two of them for violating federal regulations.
Data provided to The Canadian Press recently showed over one trillion litres of raw sewage leaked into Canadian waterways between 2013 and 2017, including 215 billion litres in 2017 alone - a 10 per cent increase over 2013.
Environment Minister Catherine McKenna says the government isn’t specifically looking at ways to improve reporting rates of municipalities but, if there is more to do, the federal government would consider it.
McKenna said Tuesday that climate change is expected to bring about more frequent storms, like the flash flood rainfall in Toronto a week ago that left the harbourfront waters covered in debris from the toilets of millions of Toronto residents.
“This is a real problem,” McKenna said.

When I moved to the DC area, I was amazed at how many communities have connected sewage and storm drains. I can understand problems arising from a flood at the location of a sewage plant, but who would intentionally funnel rain runoff into the sewer plant?

I have a prediction: Climate Change will cause more and more ignorant and poorly educated leftists to believe in obvious hoaxes and crap science.
Over time, all sewage systems fail, regardless of whether climate changes or not. Blockages occur, causing overflows, or the material of which the sewer pipes are made erodes, corrodes, or simply disintegrates, causing subterranean discharges, some seeping into the ground water from which the drinking water is drawn.
There is no correlation, and even so, correlation is not causation.

Well it certainly seems to be doing so in San Francisco, but exactly how the climate causes more sewage to leak out of vagrants remains a mystery.

Sewage leaks are more likely due to Canadian liberals pissing away their neighbor’s tax dollars on social fantasies.
