THE Westminster terror suspect is believed to have travelled from his home in the Midlands before ploughing the car he bought two months ago into cyclists and pedestrians.

Armed cops arrested the man, aged in his 20s, after three people were left injured following the suspected terror attack outside Parliament this morning.

Chilling footage showed the Ford Fiesta career through Westminster before mowing down pedestrians and smashing into a barrier during a "terror" rampage.

Dramatic videos show the vehicle hurtling across lanes outside the Houses of Parliament before it knocked several cyclists off their bikes.

The handcuffed driver is believed to be from the Midlands and was led away by armed cops after people were left injured in the "very sinister" smash at 7.40am.

Let’s see... So far they’ve been able to figure out that he drove a Ford Fiesta, he bought the car two months ago, he’s from the Midlands, he’s in his 20s, but they have absolutely no clue as to his name.

Correct. It’s one of those British words or expressions that have been forgotten on this side of the Pond. English has sprouted differently everywhere it’s been planted. It’s every changing and adapting, sort of like the Common Cold Virus of languages.

What I want to know is when are the “moment of silence” and “prayer vigil” scheduled for.

Noticed years ago when our only TV available to watch in English were BBC 1 and BBC 2 that even well educated people, who probably studied them for years, refuse to pronounce foreign words and names as spoken in the original tongues. Everything is adapted to an English inflection and style of pronunciation. Double “LL” in Spanish? Plain “ell” instead of “yy”. But they become huffy when anyone pronounces English words differently than they do.

It’s what they aren’t allowed to tell you that tells you all you need to know.

"Chilling footage showed the Ford Fiesta career through Westminster..."

It's proper English, but that particular usage of the word has long been out of favor in America. The word, 'careen', is more favored here.

Excellent way to truncate the usual long DM headline as well :-)

(I was picturing the jihadi in a Tin Lizzy, accompanied by the Benny Hill Yakety Sax...- hey, terrorism can be fun! Visit London!)
