He could fire, and appoint an interim attorney general. Once the subpoenas and grand juries start flying against the deep state, it would be a hell of a problem for them to impeach. If we lose in the midterms, it’s not going to matter anyway.

Your connection to it making Trump look weak is one of the only things that gives me hope that actually Trump is strong in this circumstance. It is not like him to show such vulnerability and supplicant weakness—unless there is something else going on.

I love the guy but the one thing pissing me off is that he hired Sleepy Sessions who has NOT gone after the crimes of the previous administration.
