With early voting beginning Monday in some Florida counties, the Senate race there was jolted as Republican Gov. Rick Scott kept up the pressure on Sen. Bill Nelson’s thus far unsubstantiated claims that Russian operatives have already compromised Florida elections.
In the hotly contested race, Democratic Sen. Nelson’s comments seemed to dovetail with the narrative of Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. elections —international shenanigans many in the American intelligence community have concluded were real.
But Mr. Nelson’s pointed remarks triggered a storm of protest not only from his Republican challenger, Mr. Scott, but from other Florida officials, too.
Mr. Scott spent the weekend hammering Mr. Nelson for his claims last Tuesday that “Russians are in Florida’s elections records,” and that they had “already penetrated certain counties in the state and they now have free rein to move about.”
The senator offered no specifics or evidence for his bombshell, and when pressed to do so demurred on the ground it was “classified.”
Since then, Mr. Scott’s campaign has repeatedly accused Mr. Nelson of either fabricating his accusation to play off inchoate fears of Russian election hacking, or breaking the law by revealing classified information.
Mr. Nelson’s office released a statement late Friday claiming the Scott campaign was seeking to exploit a serious situation for political gain, but other than that, the three-term senator has been so invisible that state media published a story Monday afternoon headlined, “Where is Bill Nelson?”

Scott is a Kasich in RINO clothing but he wins close elections and he will drill Nelson at any debate.

Actually Putin has already won. The Democrats will blame EVERY loss on the Russians. They have never lost an honest election.
The primary election date in FL is Aug 28 but in some counties the early voting will start the 13th, in most counties the early voting starts on the 18th.

We here in Polk Co. think he looks like a corpse. He certainly gives off a creepy persona.
Personally I cannot stand him nor watch his campaign ads. I’m still po’d for his vote on burdening us all with crapcare.
It is definitely time for him to fade away..Gov. Scott will destroy him come November.

Nelson is 76 years old today. If reelected he’ll be 82 when he next comes before the voters. He has been feeding at the government as an elected official since 1972.
Not only should there be term limits there should be a limit on total years spent in public office of any kind. Kill the deep state by ending it as a career path. Return to citizen legislators.
Perhaps Nelson, a very ineffective and deceptive Senator has leaked CLASSIFIED information? Perhaps he knows he WILL loose and wants to challenge the results? Perhaps he is setting the stage for a contention that the GOP stole this election from the Dems in FL as they claimed for Gore? They sound like the old Brooklyn Dodgers- “We wuz robbed!”

Nelson like Pelosi from what I have seen has trouble stringing a sentence together more often than not. Shame there are no term limits.
Alyssa Milano will be in right after to claim that Nelson was under Russian manipulation when he made the claim about Russian interference, and when he said this:
