Bicycles and illegals don't mix on busy city streets in Chicago. No, wait: They actually mix a lot, and that's a problem. A Chicago bike-safety activist, who made it her business to erect bicycles spray-painted white on city streets where cyclists were killed as a reminder to drivers to look out for cyclists, decided that that issue wasn't all that important in cases where the driver is illegal. Which turned out to be her own assault by an incautious illegal alien driver. In her mind, being illegal trumped the very bike safety she spent time erecting monuments to. One set of laws for us, another set of laws for them, which is the height of lefty insanity.

She suffered a gash in her chin that required four stitches, a black eye, and road rash. Her bike was also badly damaged.
But because the driver who hit her was an illegal without a drivers license she says it is ok.

Wow.... there was a woman who got caught by the cops driving drunk 4 times, but she was let off as she had family in law enforcement—they were doing her family a favor, they thought.
Then one day she got drunk, drove 60 mph over the speed limit, and killed 4 teenagers.
That bike activist should be strung up. Letting someone who can’t drive, has no licence (nor insurance!), off because she is here illegally? What will the bike activist do when that woman kills a family?

That’s pretty good, because there are very few things that trump Bicyclist.
We had a cop in our town who liked to drink a little too much, and kept getting stopped on the way home from the bar, only to be let off, again and again.
One day he screwed up, missed his turn, and put his car through a storefront in the neighboring town. Finally, those cops were less inclined to be understanding. He was arrested and finally lost his job.
For a lot of people, they will refrain from drinking and driving out of fear of the police, rather than the fear of sudden violent injury and death. You remove the fear of the police, and they have no incentive to stop.
There’s a left wing hierarchy of values to settle these conflicts. The game is played by claiming membership in designated victim classes. Gay is the top of the pyramid. Points are awarded for psycho-sexual dysfunction, islam, illegal residence status, dark skin, physical disability, and being female (in roughly that order). Straight white conservative Christian male is at the bottom — double jeopardy if you hold a non-professional job or didn’t go to college.
Too bad she can’t be charged with some form of aiding and abetting an illegal or conspiracy to do same.
Considering I sit at the bottom of that hierarchy you mention.

Wow. It reminded me of case of two employees of the Virgina-Pilot who were assaulted back in the spring of 2012 and beaten by a black mob of around 100 people, and the paper refused to even report it...for leftist reasons.
They said they didn’t want to jump to conclusions. And when one witness was asked about it, they said “Naw, there was nothing racial about it, just looking for something to do” or something like that.
Sure. A mob of 100 black people surrounding a car, beating on the lefty white reporter who stupidly got out of the car (and his somewhat smarter lefty colleague who stayed in the car but still got a beating) has no racial component.
I could be mistaken, but I recall the victims were saying that they weren’t sure it was racial. Wow.

I don’t know...I recall reading something on it, and it didn’t have that tone-it was as if they went out of their way, above what would be required to keep their jobs, to make excuses.
You might well be right, but it seemed more of a “Stockholm Syndrome” statement than that of someone who was worried about losing their job.
I guess in the end, it is all the same, since Leftism IS a form of Stockholm Syndrome...
