The Florida man who invoked the "stand your ground" self-defense after shooting a black man in a dispute over a parking space was charged Monday with manslaughter, officials said.
Michael Drejka, 47, was arrested Monday morning in the fatal shooting in July of Markeis McGlockton in Clearwater, Florida.

The shooter was probably already pumped up with anger while arguing with the woman in the car.
After the boyfriend shoved him to the ground the adrenaline was really pumping and his fight or flight instinct said, “fight your life is in danger.”
Very few people are going to be able to calmly and coolly judge ‘Oh, he just backed up a half step’ after having been shoved backward three feet on his butt by a guy that has 80 pounds and 30 years on him
Oh, and just think that big guy could have been on top of him doing the Trevon slam in about 8/10ths of a second.
IIRC this clown (the shooter) specializes in hanging around the parking lot and accosting people.
This time somebody accosted him back, flat on his ass, so he decided to shoot the man.
Lock him up.
Except that he did not start a confrontation with McGlockton.
It was the other way around.
It will be interesting to follow the case.

The victim [Markeis McGlockton] had a criminal history:
McGlockton’s history included a drug conviction in 2010 and an arrest for aggravated battery a decade ago, records show, but the charge was dropped

Drejka was rolling around town confronting people, and getting in road rage incidents with his little "concealed helper"...

Watch the video, straight up Murder. First off the Dogooder was harassing the guy’s girlfriend and impeding her getting out of her car, then as the victim is backing up, Mr Dofooder pulls the gun and fires. In my book its 2nd-degree murder.
A jury should never see or hear about it.
It would be immaterial and prejudicial to the case.
The shooting victim didn’t advance, did you actually watch the video? He backs away as soon as the gun was pulled and there was a good few seconds before the guy on the ground fires. Also, as per reports, this guy went out of his way to pick fights in the parking lot, as noted pretty darn empty at the time of this incident, just a neighborhood busybody who took things too far.
Just . . . Damn. Confirms my initial suspicions. This guy needs to go away for a long time. He was just looking for an excuse to shoot someone.
The sheriff in this case turns out to be a complete and incompetent tool.
I feel certain the prosecutor does not want the past for mcglockton entered into evidence either as there are several arrests. I think it has to be the same for both of them.
Reports say he pulled this more often than once. Ragging on folks for parking in Hand-cap.Not sure about the gun part.

Have never been in a physical confrontation in my life; and I’m 65. Not that there wasn’t a time I could not have handled one.
Not going to bars for the sole purpose of drinking, not hitting on women, nor being around idiots and people with anger management issues makes it a lot easier.
I’ve always my wits to avoid physical confrontation, even when dealing with law enforcement agents who have tried to threatened me. I have a way to convince them in a very polite way that trying to screw with me would not end wel for them.
