Basically anyone who has ever been to an airport knows that finding an open power outlet can be one of the most stress-inducing aspects of flying. So it should come as no surprise that people are freaking out over this power outlet sticker prank.
Thanks to one beleaguered travelers commitment to exposing this diabolical trick to the world, a photo of one of the fake sockets has gone viral.
Whoever put up this fake sticker of an open outlet at the airport, you are now my enemy for life, Twitter user Brandon Ewing captioned a photoset of himself discovering the ruse.
Of course, Ewing hasnt been the only one to fall for this prank. Several others have also recently shared their experience with fake airport outlets.
Why!!!! It looks so real!! Why put a sticker of an outlet on the wall in the terminal!! questioned another victim. So triggered.

Easy. Put outlets around airports with like small vending machines with a two dollar fee for a 10 minute charge...
Diabolical? I was expecting something like squirting super glue into the outlets so that charging plugs could never be removed or wiring a 120 V outlet into a 240 V circuit. But a sticker? Diabolical?
Bringing up the rear but double checking. The title alone demanded it.
If they end up doing this, I’m hunting you down.
I want some of those Trump Hollywood Star stickers to distribute. Now thats a triggering item.
Sell electricity to a captive crowd? Come on, it’s a natural...
Used to glue down quarters to the sidewalk in front of the hardware store where I worked in the 80’s. :-)
I wany one fot my bald spot!
Beep Beep!!
From Brazil:
The URL translates to “to-avoid-accident-city-hall-drain-of-tunnel-in-3d-made-in-the-street”. The article claims the tunnel mural was painted over before anyone drove into it.
Probably true since the wall the tunnel is painted on has a bumped out /flared base- makes the roadrunner look like it is leaning inward, but it also means that there’s no way that particular spot on the car could have been damaged if the car had been driven into the wall because the flared base would have prevented that part of the hood and headlight on the car from even making contact. The damage would have been to a lower part of the car, like the bumper.
But a funny set of pics even so.
I use mine constantly here at home.
Ha!! Winner.
Which is also a practical joke
My little sister would superglue a dime to the sidewalk below her fourth-floor apartment, then drop water balloons on people who tried to pick up the dime.
Only keeps coyotes out - roadrunners are allowed to pass....
Damn that’s funny, a real life Wile E. Coyote scenario.
Hysterical! Never happens in the Executive Lounges though.
I stayed at a rustic scout camp. Someone went to the trouble of installing a light switch and a light fixture in the outhouse.
I’ll never admit to having done it
