The Interior Department confirmed the departure of Greg Sheehan, the head of the Fish and Wildlife Service ..Sheehan was appointed in June 2017 to be principal deputy secretary for the agency, a position carved out for him until a permanent secretary to head the agency was nominated.

Sheehan had served on the Utah wildlife management service before coming to Washington. There , he oversaw the development of state-based management plans for the greater the chicken-sized sage grouse, the Utah prairie dog, and other animals native to the state. The agency said he was "a key liaison" between the states and the Interior Department on Endangered Species Act issues.

The right thing to do, if you don’t agree with the administration, is to resign. All good.

The article didn’t read like this was a disgruntled type quit.

Sounded more like his interim position ended.

Anyhoo, whether or not the guy is leaving because pissed off, the strangle hold BLM has on so much land is getting weakened.

That’s a good thing.

... a position carved out for him until a permanent secretary to head the agency was nominated.

So his departure was expected from the day he was appointed. Nothing to do with policy changes. That he may well have made.

Misleading headline.

A lot of big boulders have been moved into place on BLM around here to block access to dirt roads to protect the sage grouse.

Yes...I read so many articles where the news twists the actual events into what they want it to say. However since most of the news leans left I do try and post the actual event as it is.....in this case the guy likely got peeved since his background has been preserving wildlife with the EPA nonsense. So he wasn’t going to be a fixture for long...

That will bite the BLM & the Fire Fighters in the ass when they try to access areas on fire.
