On Tuesday night, a 51-year-old man who lives in a cabin in Holy Jim Canyon was arrested in connection with the fire. Forrest Gordon Clark was taken into custody of O.C. Sheriffs deputies after he allegedly sent an email last week which read, this place will burn, according to the Orange County Register.
Of the 14 cabins in Clarks area, his is the only one that was not destroyed, the Register reports.
He was arrested on two counts of felony arson, one count of felony threat to terrorize and one count of misdemeanor resisting arrest. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Because of the resources needed to battle the Mendocino Complex burning in Northern California now the largest wildfire in state history along with several others burning across the state, only 444 personnel were assigned to the Holy Fire as of Wednesday morning. However, at a morning briefing, officials said they are hoping to double that number soon. Ten water-dropping helicopters and seven fixed-wing aircraft were being used in the aerial attack.
Fire will continue to spread southeast and north with only limited spread to the west, the Cleveland National Forest said in a statement Tuesday night. The lack of resources for direct attack will allow the fire to spread into new areas, and align for strong head-fire runs and the potential for an Elsinore down slope event.

#36 has a link with the rather nice wood door in the picture. Just ran through all the pics at that link and I asked someone else if the pictures of the water that are there are at Lake Elsinore? It’s that close to coming down into the city? Or at least as fast as that fire seems to be moving? So frightening. We used to watch them from afar in OC and had the ash and burned bark from the Big Bear fires on our cars and driveways/streets...
water?
Pretty sure the nice wood door is on his cabin. That’s where he was arrested.
The water pictures are Lake Elsinore, it’s directly east of Holy Jim Canyon where the fire started, and the fire headed their way. It’s also headed down to Ortega Hwy.
I’m northwest of the fire and the giant smoke cloud has been filtering our sunlight all day. Spooky.
Try this map:
Fire started south of Santiago Peak, the southern hump that makes up Saddleback. Holy Jim Canyon where the fire started is maybe 3-4 miles east of O’Neill Park
Thank you.....Some of those pictures of the smoke resemble the atomic bomb pictures. So scary...
Yes water - at that link with all the photos, there is a body of water and someone replied that yes, it is Lake Elsinore. Couldn’t imagine what else it could be so I asked...I knew there are man made lakes on the western portion but didn’t think any fire had gone down there...
Thanks loads for the map link.....that helps...
Leftists generate hate for America and fires are a really easy way to do a lot of damage.
here’s a flyover for you, showing perspective of Lake Elsinore.

Thank you....I wondered where those water tanks were also as they show up in so many pictures...
Prayers for you and all who are affected by this inferno.
I’m in Eureka Ca and am safe at this time other then the smoke...
