Come, Strzok, Rosenstein. They all knew the dossier was fake from the beginning. The document was used as a prop to generate the FISA warrant, not to unearth some ghastly crime, but for the purpose of spying on the Trump campaign to help Hillary.
It was all so perfect. These operatives in the FBI were going to show what good little minions they could be for Hillary by doing her dirty work. It would have the double-bonus for them in that the work they did was illegal, and if ever brought to light, Hillary would be toast for having orchestrated the spying on Trump.
In effect, the FBI set up its own protection racket that would keep them in good graces with fat budgets and no questions asked for the entire Hillary Administration. And then the “unexpected” happened.
