(CNN)Stung by the level of violence last weekend, Chicago officials pledged Tuesday to deploy more officers in neighborhoods that have seen a surge in shootings.

I’ll tell you one thing. Were going to see highly publicized stories about Chicago shootings.

We don’t have police in my neighborhood, maybe a few times in the last 20 years and guess what?
Virtually no crime either.
The cops will be the witnesses. They dare not use that thing on their hip called a gun, otherwise they will cause a riot.
When this happens, the criminals typically knock it off for a while, or go on vacation.
The police will say there’s no crime going on here, what are we doing, and leave after a while.
Maybe they will deploy the Guard. But the long range solution is to bust some heads and lock em up. Apply stiff sentences. And let the good people patrol their neighborhood with guns. This is a travesty to have this warfare continue. And then arrest Rahm and make him walk the streets at midnight.
It won't do any good to send it the cops, as soon as they leave the vermin will come right back out.. there's a several generations of, dint do nuffins and dint see nuffins. until You win the hearts and minds of the dint dos. anything you throw at chicago is flushing it down a toilet.

Exactly. These areas are like the no-go zones in Europe. If the people are lawless, there is little the authorities can do, and if they were to crack down, then they would be accused of racism.
Used to be real men would stand up to defend their homes & families. Now that gov’t is sugar daddy, they’re sad parodies (or throwbacks) of men.
Where have they been?
They need to view “self defense” very, very liberally. Allow people to protect their neighborhoods.
So if I were a cop in Chi-Raq, my annual vacation gets cancelled and I have to work weekends to keep the hoodrats from killing each other?

this isn’t a real fix because it can’t be sustained ... it’s nothing more than temporary window dressing so the powers-that-be can pretend they’re doing something ...
With respect, I seriously doubt it. A cop has every motivation in the world to show up with gun drawn on the corpse. Not to stop or get in the middle of anything or, worst case, put a round or five into some gangbanger kid who’s just about to blast some other gangbanger kid. All these extra cops might cut the body count by 3-5%.

You can go and list the fifteen-odd characteristics of a no-go area, and the only item missing is heavy concentration of multiple ethnic communities (the new migrants).
You would think that people would go the route of Detroit, and just start to pack up and leave. It would be the logical next step.
