FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A newly released transcript shows Florida school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz spat out “kill me” and then cursed as he sat alone in a sheriff’s interrogation room just hours after the massacre that left 17 dead.
Broward sheriff’s Detective John Curcio had just left Cruz alone to get him some water when the 19-year-old suspect made that exclamation.

Not a suicide-by-cop as in most such scenarios, but I agree, police lethargy seems to have kept it from being a suicide-with-collateral-damage-by-cop which is what Cruz would have otherwise walked into. Cruz hated the world and he hated himself. It was a scenario in which he could, so he imagined, carry out vengeances on both. If he’d done it, say, in Levy County, he’d be dead now and not on the news.
If you will remember back, Kip Kinkel also screamed “SHOOT ME, KILL ME!” at the police after he murdered his parents and shot up the Thurston High School in 1998.
What problem would that be, exactly?
Earth mindedness ends up losing on both earth and eternal fronts.

I doubt that he will die, now. It looks too much like a sustainable mental illness defense situation, ripe for bargain anyhow by people who just want to wash the case off of the news.
Even if he does receive the death penalty, it will take decades to enforce it, unfortunately.
He did many, many things up until that point which were basically crying out for help - including calling the authorities himself once - and they did nothing - apparently several dozen times. If they had done something, all of these lives would have been saved - including his own. It is so infuriating to think about.

The liberals here in Florida are a particularly air headed set even as they go. I sounded off on a town hall posting about a “Zero Waste” initiative. I said that’s an empty slogan, and what is needed is a “Waste Mitigation” initiative which is reasonable and measurable and straightforward. Tell us that you saved X% of waste this year using Y technique, etc. Don’t know how that will come across — but it seems likely to me that if this kind of airheadedness goes on in Alachua County (Gainesville) it isn’t any better further south where the Cruz shooting happened.
And I wondered why Gainesville was a demons’ nest. Granted I am more sensitive to that kind of thing than some people are.
I agree — I think “hush it up” is going to be the watchword here — he embarrassed way too many people — and it will be unlikely to see an execution with its notoriety. This isn’t Ted Bundy. This is a local grown nut that nobody seem to know what to do with, long LONG before he shot anybody. Airhead liberals... GRRRRR.....
I’m one of those that believes that, short of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, Christ can/will redeem any who go to Him.
