Ethanol produces significant negative impacts on the environment, in some cases worse than the gasoline it’s supposed to be replacing.

It enables gasoline to mix with water.

Next question.

So these same “farmers” object to subsidies .... ethanol is nothing but a government ordered subsidy that rapes the farmland for the benefit of big farm corps.

MTBE was very detrimental to the environment but California insisted on it. They will do the same with ethanol.

Ethanol needs to be outlawed. It kills gas mileage. Kills engines. It's bad for the environment. It increases the cost of corn-fed livestock and food that uses corn.

The only reason we have it is for congress critters to buy corn farmer votes. It's welfare for corn farmers.

This came out several years ago. Media will ignore it like they did before.

A long-delayed report from the Environmental Protection Agency finds that requiring ethanol made from corn and soybeans to be part of the nation’s gas supply is causing serious environmental harm.

And on top of that, it takes more energy to produce a unit of ethanol than the energy we get from it

If you have ever lived downwind from an ethanol plant you know what air pollution is.

The US has no need, of any kind, for ethanol fuel.

It has always been a bad deal economically, and environmentally. The ethanol mandate should be entirely eliminated.

Ethanol beverages are an entirely different matter.

I have known this from known, public science studies for at least 15 years if not longer. Groundwater is polluted worse from ethanol gas than just pure gas.

the only good ethanol as gas additive is for the corn holes that profit from it.

Ethanol would quickly end if all farm equipment were mandated to use only E85 ethanol or biodiesel. Farmers love the corn subsidy, but won’t use that crap in their farm machinery.
