Humm...I got through, so did poster 7. He published the chart, which is an almost steady decline down to about 500k paid subscriptions from several times that. Of course, much of this is driven by aging demographics and a switch to alternative media because alternative media is more available, mostly free and younger people are used to using computers as opposed to waiting for, essentially, obsolete news delivered by paper. When my 101 year old mother passes, we will stop the paper. As the older generation dies, so does print media.

You are absolutely correct. My 90 y o mother only took the Louisville Courier Journal for the crossword puzzles.

She despises the editorial content.

She tried cancelling the paper over and over but they kept delivering it. I assume to keep their circ numbers up.

Not sure why I got blocked out of your link and others didn’t. Thanks for posting.

I wish your mother many more happy and productive years. As the NYT subscriber numbers continue to drop, when you eventually do cancel the subscription, many years from now, you will have the satisfaction of having a larger impact, percentage wise.

I am in a similar dilemma with a family member in poor health. That person gets pleasure from watching Netflix in their final days so I keep paying for it because I'm not going to take that away from them. However the day I get home from the funeral that left-wind indoctrination "service" is gone.
