Up to ‘Simpsons’ creators to handle Apu criticism: Fox exec

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Creators of “The Simpsons” have the freedom to handle the show’s depiction of Indian shop owner Apu in the right way for their show, a top Fox executive said Thursday.

Apu, the Kwik-E-Mart clerk who has sold expired food and ripped off customers in the long-running animated Fox series, has come under fire as racist and stereotypical. The criticism flared after the recent release of the documentary “The Trouble with Apu.”

Same here, but do remember it fondly from my broadcast TV watching days. All the way back to the first short, on the Tracey Ullman Show, where Bart can't get to sleep puzzling over the question of mind versus matter. His eyes sort of explode in the dark when Homer provides the comforting answer "Oh, Son. Never mind. Doesn't matter."

And speaking of genetics, when did the sense of humor gene get bred out of Liberals? Maybe it's a virus.

In the future I think everyone needs to have their skin removed so no one can claim to be offended because someone with their skin type is being poorly represented.
