If Muhammad had the genitals of his favorite wife, Aisha, mutilated, that is a strong endorsement of the practice from the man who is an “excellent example” (Qur’an 33:21) for Muslims.

Doing this to a nine year old little girl (or was she six?) is a strong reason why Muslim fundamentalists should be kept out of civilized countries.

So, back to the practice of FMG/MGM, either it is allowed under religious practices or it is banned to the point that people are of age to either agree or disagree and choose.

Finally, all points taken together, Islam ought to be banned for it’s overall failure in society, both in the Muslim world and everywhere else. We all know what happens when a social/religious practice is banned, right? It gets worse.

The difference is comparable to piercing an ear lobe as opposed to piercing an eye ball.

People who don’t know anything about it think it’s just “extra” rather than “integral”, which it is. Circumcision was directed by God to Abraham.

Abraham was the father of many nations, not just Israel. So, Arabs, for example, also followed this custom historically.

A large number of Gentile Christians have their male children circumcised because it is believed to be healthier. Statistics show that it reduces the likelihood of penile cancer, among other things.

But, it is an article of faith.

It’s things like “female circumcision” that make me agree with the “borders, language, culture” meme. When we import foreigners with strange customs and religious practices, it divides and weakens our nation. And this appears to be happening by design.
