The Texas Senate race between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas) is neck and neck, according to a new poll released Wednesday.
The 2018 Texas Lyceum Poll showed Cruz leading O'Rourke by a hair 41-39 percent among likely voters. That's well within the survey's margin of error of 4.67 percentage points.
That's a particularly tight margin for Texas, which has not elected a Democrat to the Senate in three decades.
The findings come weeks after O'Rourke, a three-term congressman, reported a staggering $10.4 million fundraising haul in the second quarter of the 2018 cycle, bringing his cash-on-hand to just under $14 million.
That's far more than the incumbent Cruz, who raised about $4.1 million in the second quarter and has about $9.3 million in cash on hand, Federal Election Commission filings show.
Texas has normally been a reliably red state, voting for President Trump over his Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton by 9 points in 2016.
Chris Wilson, a former pollster for Cruz's 2016 presidential campaign, called the poll's findings into question on Wednesday, saying that the partisan breakdown for the survey looks nothing like Texas voters.
ETC...
No, it isn’t a close race, Cruz will win easily.
In this age of ANTIFA, I don't think we'll see many/any conservative signs any more. I know I won't put any out. Besides, it is really too early to put out yard signs.
What’s making it blue. Dallas population growth? Imports from other states? Illegals?
All of the above.
You are 100% correct...both Greg Abbott & Ted Cruz slaughtered their Democrat opponents in vote totals. The numbers were astounding...across the board. As I have said Abbott will defeat his Democrat opponent by an over 1,000,0000 vote victory margin and Cruz will do exactly the same to his Democrat opponent. Also bet your bottom dollar, that POTUS, Donald J. Trump will be visiting the great state of Texas a few times during the Mid-Term election cycle!!!
Even far, far left Quinnipiac has a poll out today that has Cruz up 6.

No, it isn’t.
I’ve seen several O’Rourke signs and stickers, and I think one for the Libertarian. Cruz isn’t running a ground game at this point.
Cruz is going to make the same mistake Hillary made and take things for granted.
I imagine this race is “close” like the McConnell-Grimes race in Kentucky was “close” in 2014 in which the Dems poured tens of millions of dollars in here and McConnell won by 15 points, one his largest margins of victory in his very long tenure in the Senate.
