RUSH: Here is John in Rochester, New York. Great that you called. Glad you waited, sir. Hello.
CALLER: Hello, Rush. Its an honor and a pleasure to speak with you. Im gonna get right to the point. It seems to me that youre about to end the last show of your 30th year and nothing has been said about it yet. So I want to be the one who congratulates you and thanks you on behalf legions of Dittoheads and our Rush Babies like my children. You have meant so much to me. Ive listened to you since you started, and Im nervous and choking up here. But thank you. Thank you, sir.
RUSH: Im kind of not choking up here, but scratching my eyes a little bit. I appreciate that. I hear from people throughout the year who say nice things like you have. It never ceases to hit me, affect me very deeply, you know. Thirty years, some of it seems like I can just imagine some of those days 30 years yesterday. Some of those days 25 years ago are yesterday. Others it does seem like 30 years. On balance it doesnt, though. On balance it doesnt seem like anywhere near 30 years. I think its because my attitude hasnt changed in 30 years.
CALLER: Thats absolutely right. Even when I
There have been times I havent been able to listen to you because of work schedules. When the opportunity came back to listen to you again, I always found you, as I used to say, right where I left you. You are that consistent. RUSH: Well, you are very perceptive. I think you typify, you exemplify the exact way I imagine everybody in this audience. I think everybody listening here is involved and intelligent and aware, and thinks and shares a similar value system or value base. Thats why its so meaningful. This is why I understand the bond that Trumps supporters have with him, is because I have it, too, with all of you who listen to this program and nobodys been able to break the bond.
My favorite Rushism is when a caller in the last hour (after 1 PM central time) calls and talks about something from the first hour. Rush has to explain to people who weren’t listening during the 1st hour: “Let me explain what he’s talking about to those of you who’re just now tuning in cuz you’re just now waking up cuz you’re on welfare...” :)
Trump also said he thought McCain’s vote was about him.
Was that GREAT or what!?!?
WooHoo.. President Trump on Rush’s show!!! Outstanding conversation.. LOVE them both!!!
Thanks for your time Buckeye! And Roll Tide!
I was heartened to hear that the President has re-thought his belief of how many people in Washington are “bad people.”
I’ve said before on this forum that I believed he was a bit naive about just how corrupt our government is. To hear him admit that he had underestimated the number of enemies of America there are in our government only reinforces my faith in the President.
Discovered Rush in 1990 when C-SPAN used to do Talk Radio Week & televise various hosts. Haven’t stopped listening.
Congrats, El Rushbo!
Been a El Rushbo fan since January 1991, just before former President George H.W. Bush’s Persian Gulf War 1. on WTIC AM after it moved from WPOP AM.
Same for me. I was educated at EIB U starting in 1998. I was headed that way, but Rush gave me a great initial education. I ventured out to other centers of learning after Rush, but I will always be thankful for what he did for me. And through him, I have influenced others.
Happy anniversary to him.
I was born at Maxwell AFB. :)
I came back to this country in 1994 and I had heard about this horrible shock jock and wanted to give him a listen. He made more sense than anything else I ever heard. And he converted me to the good side. I was just a Gullible until Rush. Thanks, Rush.
I dont listen any more because of some of his dishonesty to listeners, and because he isnt the person his radio persona is. But when he quoted my posts here as his own ideas on the radio I was nothing but flattered. For a long time he was the living person I most wanted to meet. I give him lots of credit for all hes done. Congrats on such a successful career and thank you, Rush, for great conservatives all over the radio dial now.
First heard rush on the car radio while on the job in 1988. was amazed to hear something like that on the air and when the jingle came one I thought they were saying Rush Limbo.
So for a week or so he was Rush Limbo to me.
Lost a daily interest in him once I found FR, which is show prep for Rush.
Because of Rush there are millions of people who never would have known Rio Linda, CA even exists.
I do credit Rush with waking me up politically, I guess I was always kind of conservative, but really didn’t think too much about where I was politically. But once I started listening to Rush, it made me realize just where I was politically, although it’s probably been at least twenty years since I’ve listened to him.
I love Rush - started listening about 26 years ago. Made sure my kids tuned in while they grew up. I even got through and spoke with him once!
I just read that he’s #2.....WHAT!? Hannity is #1?! Good grief - Hannity is like a yapping toddler compared to Rush!

Yep. I think when Rush showed Clinton being caught laughing at Ron Brown’s funeral had something to do with it. lol
