Yep. The ADA is very clear so called “Emotional support animals” are not considered legitimate service animals.
But you can ask, (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
Publix is living up to it’s slogan: ‘Where Shopping is a Pleasure’ with this,
Hubby and I were in IHOP for lunch today. I looked up just as a lady was leaving and holding her Chihuahua. I asked our waiter if it was trained service dog. He didn’t know because she wasn’t seated in his area. (sigh)
The 2 ladies were playing with each other? Is that why they almost fainted?
This was in a lobby of a psych office where they were being treated for emotional trauma.
The dogs? Well, I guess having to watch ladies playing with each other to the point where they almost fainted would give ME emotional trauma...
“I put hand sanitizer on the seat of the shopping cart I get . . . “
Thank goodness the Publix stores all have sanitary wipes available upon entering the store. I also wipe not only the handle/bar off, but the seat. Who knows WHAT was on it before you got the cart??
“I was in the psych ward for 6 month and this dog has saved my life.”
“But it’s still not a service dog, because a real service dog would ignore every other dog.”
Notice how they tend to motor through the chip and donut aisles?
Yeah it sucks having to clean up after them in the produce department.
LOL!
The best scammers are the ones that order a wheelchair so they can board the plane first at Southwest Airlines. I flew yesterday and watched a poor woman in a wheelchair get up and walk to the bathroom o the over end of the concourse (much further than the distance required to walk down the ramp to the plane) then come back move her luggage out of the seat if the wheelchair and sit down just in time for boarding.....
Another reason to like Publix. We have had three or four Publix stores open in our area this year. We get almost all our groceries there now
...and none of those European Shoulder Bags!
Would walk right past Hillary...
Dogs belong at home in the backyard not in a store (any store). They are dogs (animals) not people like many of you dog owners think.
Hopefully, other food stores and other stores will take this stance and stop the invasion of fake service animals.
Take a neighbor’s dog into the restaurant with you and ask the chef if he can wok your dog
Don’t tempt me like that!!! I have to run my noisy whole house fan at night to “white noise” out that barking beast!!! Speaking of “white noise,” those white people think of everything... don’t they?!! (politically incorrect grin)
They bark almost all the time, especially when I am in the back yard.
I used to use a siren when they did that, but other neighbors complained lol.
Now I have a radio by the fence and a plug by my back door and when they bark I plug in the radio full blast.
That works pretty good, and I leave it on long after they stop barking.
I hope you have it tuned to KSFO AM 560!!! (grin)
