I taught Business Law at the undergrad and Masters level for 2.5 years at a local university. As much as I love teaching, I couldn’t continue grading papers that, even from the masters-level students, were so poorly written that my 8th grade English/History teachers would have given me a 0. I also refused to follow the protocol for Academic and Attendance Advisories: email on the first absence/failing grade, text on the second, call on the third, make a tutoring/advising appointment on the fourth, etc., etc. My thought was, “If he/she isn’t willing to put in the effort, the grade will reflect it.” I’m all about seeing if there’s something else going in a student’s life, but for God’s sake, people, GROW UP.

A crossroads ad on TV with your statement illustrated on the left and our position on the right would do it-—2,500 times a month on TV.
Even one with money being taken out by hand from wallets going to trashy Dem pet causes and staying in the voter’s wallets for our side through lower taxes would work. Not complicated ideas.
1960 Nixon vs. JFK was won on Mayor Richard Daley of corrupt Chicago dumping paper ballots and records into the river so just enough Dem votes would be left to swing Illinois and thus enable the tiny 1/4 vote per precinct JFK US victory margin to come to pass.

I agree. Things were already in place but Obama set them in motion. Obama is pure Evil.
yet, the roots of all our current poltical ills rest in the virulent, rampant poltical corruption of the Clinton years. They weaponized everything from Government Statistics, the bureaucracy, the ‘news” media. The damage the Presidency of Clinton did to to our poltical system and our culture are enormous.
The best way to bring the universities back to effectiveness is to make them accountable. They are getting millions of dollars cranking out unemployable snowflakes with worthless degrees in critical environmental policy and the like. The snowflakes are stuck with $100,000 of non-dischargeable debt. Yes, they chose poorly. But what does the university care?
So, let the snowflake discharge the student loan debt, and require the university that issued the phoney-baloney degree to reimburse the government for the loan. The government is no longer the guarantor of the loan, the university is. As it should be.
The socialists may freely spend other people’s money, but they are incredibly stingy with their own.
