Can you explain to me why Paul had to go public with this?
He could have gone about this without going public.
I’d defer to Senator Paul, but at least part of his taking a public stance is giving voice to the fourth amendment concerns of his supporters and highlighting an issue he feels strongly about.
I’m pretty sure there’s a public relations aspect to it also, Senators like to be talked about and see their name in the newspapers.
Frankly, Paul’s coming out in favor of Kavanaugh after expressing initial reservations gives the nomination forward momentum and puts more pressure on the red state Democrats to vote yes also.
