From the Liberals Spoil Everything department, where everything is a problem, heres Vice writer Harry Cheadle: Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of 'Animal House' by Tossing It in the Trash -- Drunken frat boys don't seem so charming anymore, and the film's gender politics are 'xxxxx'd' beyond repair.
From his 2018 perch, Cheadle tears into the offensive, vulgar, and extremely hilarious college comedy hit for its lack of wokeness:
Its difficult to imagine what it was like when Animal House dropped into theaters on July 28, 1978, exactly 40 years ago. It landed like the opening of a revolution and spread through the country like a virus, eventually grossing over $500 million in today's dollars and becoming part of the DNA of every campus comedy for the next few decades....Animal House will never die. The question is, should it?
After listing the antics of John Belushis character, Cheadle quickly got to the more problematic scenes, while insulting fans.

A very funny and entertaining movie. More so then half the crap put out today. Not insulting because, oh its just a friggin movie!
And Shakespeare was so unwoke with EVERYTHING he wrote!
We should dig him up and spit on him.
(I remembered Clark's memorable rant from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
All of the silent and golden eras of Hollywood are racist because blacks didnt run the whole thing. Never mind that many, many Jews did, considering how anti-Semitic the left is now. (And on that note, I think that the fact that Ocasio-Cortez had an openly anti-Semitic campaign volunteer, one who stood right behind her as she gave her primary victory speech, needs a lot more attention in the public eye than its getting. Im doing what I can, but of course I dont have a media outlet, not even a tiny little blog.)
Animal house and other comedy films like the Airplane series, Cheech and Chong etc.. IMHO all sucked. Python included. I don’t recall ever finishing any of those. I called them tax deduction films because that is the only reason Hollywood would never make films that bad, if it’s a possible at all to get a tax deduction from a poor performing film...

You know, when you take away white western male contributions to art, culture, science, there really isnt much left that is worth a spit.
The death of comedy. “Make Comedy Funny Again”
For God’s sake don’t tell this guy Blazing Saddles is on Amazon Prime. I watched it yesterday for the first time in many years. Talk about politically incorrect!
Great film.
I remember seeing it - having NO idea what it was about - with a few friends then the next day I was going through Fraternity Rush at U of Oregon and ‘on the set’ of the movie.
I already knew which house I was going to pledge as I had several friends there...
Turns out that two of my Brothers were extras in the film.
We celebrated our 75th Toga party the next year.
Fun times!
Exactly, and exactly!
The establishment as portrayed in Animal House was at least consistent. The modern establishment says "safe sex and taxpayer-funded condoms, also buttsex. No discrimination, also keep your religion to yourself or get fined. You must love Islam AND gays."
My 17 year old just saw this movie the other day for the first time. I dont think I ever saw him laugh so loud or long.

So it’s wrong to refer to a woman’s breasts as “major league yabaho’s”???
Exactly what I was thinking. These liberals are stupid beyond repair.
The entire premise of Animal House is liberals against the constricting, wretched conservative establishment. Who are the butt of jokes as the plot of the movie? Neidermeyer and Dean Wormer. These two characters are the representation and personification of the Conservative establishment who are pilloried.
Man, liberals. All emotion, no brains.
Clark?, are you alright?
Probably closer to Pinto
