As Tesla ramps up its Fremont factory to escape what Elon Musk called production hell with its new Model 3 electric sedan, some customers are enduring their own state of suffering trying to get Teslas serviced.
Parts shortages, long repair delays and problems getting through on customer help lines have led to scenes of strife at Teslas service centers.

PayPal made Elon Musk rich.
If your business is big enough, and you are looking around for locations, you can shop around for the best deal from local governments. It’s the fiduciary duty of the CEO to do so.
Doesn’t make it wrong either.
Donald Trump used to get criticized for tax abatements, too.

And it would appear the economies of scale still aren’t making Tesla profitable. Certainly a nice Car, but the avg. Model 3 leaving the Factory I read is North of 70K each. Few of the promised 35k versions will be made IMO.

You’re right about the cars with the best margins being produced first. It’s smart business on the part of Tesla.
Tesla has the best profit margin of any electric vehicle (counting all their models) and it’s getting better.

“Tesla doesnt buy advertising in the SF Chronicle or any other paper”
They’re getting free bad advertising through incompetence though
It’s so bad nobody buys their cars anymore.
See post #16.
Tesla gets a lot of free good publicity, too.
Exactly. I spent lots of money caring for my 1974 Porsche 914. Finally sold it to a friend who loves twisting wrenches. I don't have time for that. My F150 has needed one major repair since purchasing it used in 2003. The fuel pump failed after outdoor temps dropped to between -19F and -27F. I spent another $120 to have a block heater installed while the truck was on the rack. The odometer shows just over 64,000 original miles.
The oil just hasta go in them batteries. Just hasta!
“while other times the door would open up all by itself including once on the Interstate at highway speeds. This is a safety concern for me!”
Perhaps he should consider wearing a seat belt if he feels threatened by an open door.
During Nam, we didn’t exactly have self-sealing doors on our choppers.
“On Tesla online forums, customers complain about long hold times on customer service phone line and waits of sometimes hours to check the status on a car delivery or repair, or to ask for a refund on a deposit. Some say Tesla doesnt get back to them at all.”
Absolute IDIOTS. You don’t buy a Tesla to DRIVE it, you buy it to hold your nose up at others and show them how much you care (about the planet) and what asshole they are by driving gasoline cars.
What the hell were these idiots thinking?
“The Oil change can be Hell,LOL”
No kidding. Oil changes don’t seem so bad when the alternative is an I-Pad with a few extra magnets that won’t even let you enter the vehicle.
