Bradley Kim, a defensive back at the Air Force Academy, announced on Friday that he is gay. Kim, who shared his story on his Instagram account and through an interview with OutSports, is the first active player at a service academy to publicly come out.
"The biggest reason I want to share this is to be able to reach people who are in similar situations struggling with the same things I have struggled with," Kim told OutSports. "I want to be that example for kids that you can be gay, you can pursue your dreams, and you can have an athletic career.
"My dreams got me to a D1 football program. I want to be there for people who don't feel like they have anyone there for them, because I was that kid growing up in high school."

Wow football players, the military academies and even the military has changed dramatically from as recent as 10 years ago.
And should NOT be there.
The Air Force is definitely the most progressive and liberal branch. It has been for years now.

When the Australian navy posted photos of the unlikely bearded poster boy across social media, it didn’t go down well with the navy pilloried for being focused on a “politically correct” campaign rather than focusing on the defence of the realm, The Australian reported.
Clearly angered, former Labor leader Mark Latham posted on his Outsiders Facebook page yelling: “THIS WILL SCARE THE ENEMY …”
Mr Latham told The Australian the 100 Days For Change campaign was another doomed “PC project”. “These guys are fighting for their country … why engage in pathetic virtue signalling?” he said...
