Donald Trump Jr is in hot water on social media after posting a picture of his eldest son holding a gun on Thursday.
The 40-year-old is under fire after posting a throwback picture of nine-year-old Donald Trump III holding a double-barreled shotgun while on a duck hunting trip.
'Donnie helping me out in the #duck blind last season,' he said in the post caption, tagging the photo in Texas.
Definitely the best #hunting buddy out there. Get them outdoors early and often... you won't regret it!!!'
The image has garnered split reactions, with many wondering if it is safe for such a young child to be holding the gun.
'Guns are a dangerous toy for a child,' said one person in the comments.
Another added: 'You truly are disgusting....'
'Please tell me this is for food and not just a sport; and that its being done as painlessly as possible,' a different parent stated.

Three weeks ago there was a small flock of mallards [about 30-40] roaming around the yards in my neighborhood. We live along the Mississippi. They looked like a group of mother hens with their newly hatched ducklings - about 1-2 weeks old.
On July 16th the ducks were crossing the road from the yards to the riverbank when a speeding car was spotted coming along the road. A neighbor tried to get the gal to slow down, but she paid no attention. This was in the middle of the day. Yup. She plowed right through the flock and killed 8 ducks and injured several more who hobbled onto the riverbank.
Now, why do I think that gal was a liberal? I have no proof, but it just seems like a selfish liberal to me. She drove on and never stopped her car, as if she was unaware that she had hit a flock of ducklings with their mothers.
After experiencing the wild assumptions of the liberal news media, I think my impression is justified as much as any of the notions by the news media who make things up.
Give them experience with guns and teach gun safety when they are young and they won’t grow up to be panty-wetting pussified snowflakes who cower at a photo of kid pointing a finger gun.
Good for him. Just got back from hunter safety with my 11 yr. old.
I can't recall if my first kill photos are on 35mm slides or Polaroid prints. Either way, I have 'em here somewhere and should probably scan them into .jpg format. Maybe drop them into a Facebook "Throwback Thursday" discussion and watch the battle lines form. :-)
That is a man teaching his son about life.
How many men today can teach their son about a gun.
How many men today could butcher a hog, for that matter how many could have a butchering?
We are too far away from the farm!!!
Exactly.
And guys--especially kids--putting on their own lip balm don't exactly have that salon touch.
Can't believe how many posters don't know how hunting and hiking and the outdoors in general can bust up your lippage.
My son was holding a gun this morning. And shooting it. What is anyone upset about. I’m missing something here.
Let’s hope that’s the end he’s trying to soften up.
Responsibly each your children to shoot and hunt at an early age and they will learn how to both hunt AND DEFEND THEMSELVES should the need arise.
But would there have ever even BEEN a dole in this country without women voting?
Preachin’ to the choir Brother!
When I got out of the Army in '78 I went to the Woolworths at the local mall for something and they had 3 circular racks with at least a dozen M1 Garands on each one.
If memory serves they were asking between $125 and $175 for them. I should have picked up a couple but I didn't.
A different USA, never to return, I'm afraid.
HUH RAH !.
Well at least we saw it, and no one was harmed.
My dear old Mother is still using an M1 Carbine bayonet to weed the tomato’s!
MAGA!
Great father...Donald should be proud!!!
Dangerous toys?? Excuse me Snowflake a gun is not a toy. If you teach your son (but knowing you, if you have a son your wife would castrated him and make him and you into sissies) about guns...it wouldn’t be dangerous.
My 1st gun was an M1 Carbine, $125 cash at the Scottish Rite Temple.
Still have it.
It's extremely difficult and the blood from her scratching my eyes out is difficult for me to get out of the blanket. It's not just the stubborn stain, it's the blindness. Once while cleaning up the blood, I knocked her in the head by mistake and she scratched my face off. What's next - will she rip my brain out and eat it? It's just not worth it for some crappy temporary lip protection for a cat. But I won't judge people who do use it. And after all, Don Jr's child is not a cat. But he does have a gun and probably a Jr. Twitter account, so he better be putting it on gently and probably with a kevlar vest.
“why I love dogs” by mylife LOL
I just gave a cute lil pup some of my pulled pork sammich at the VFW.
friends for life :)
And OMG ! Hes even got the muzzle pointing in a safe direction.
(Unless the pic has kerry out of site looking down the barrels. But Id be ok with that;)
