If socialist candidates are the future of the Democratic Party, that future won’t be too bright, if the findings of a new Hill.TV/Harris X American Barometer poll hold true.
Seventy-six percent of respondents in a recent survey said they would not vote for a “socialist candidate,” while 24 percent of those polled said they have no problem with the hypothetical candidate.
Those results conflict with Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez’s prediction that young politicians like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — a dues-paying member of New York City’s chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America — represent his party’s “future.”
Ocasio-Cortez beat Rep. Joe Crowley, the fourth-ranking Democrat, in a June primary.
Other primary candidates, like Maine Democratic Senate candidate Zak Ringelstein, who is challenging Sen. Angus King, are running as Democratic Socialists.
Yet not all Democrats are thrilled with this trend.
In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal earlier in July, former Democratic vice presidential candidate Joseph Lieberman cautioned his party about turning too far left.
“The policies Ms. Ocasio-Cortez advocates are so far from the mainstream, her election in November would make it harder for Congress to stop fighting and start fixing problems,” Lieberman wrote.
The Hill.TV/HarrisX poll was conducted between July 21-22 and sampled 1,001 American voters.
No problem, just repackage them as “progressives”...

Geeze…they voted for a communist in ‘08 and ‘12. But color blind eyes prevented them from seeing that.
That’s a bit better than I expected.
I would have guessed something like 40% would have no problem voting for a socialist.
The 24% “no problem” sounds like hard-core lefties, stupid very young voters, and foreign non-citizens from South America.
So, we’re already up to 24% who said they would. How many more illegals will it take to have an impact on the national level?

It not only was enough for people to ignore his true intentions for Fundamental Transformation, it was also enough for all of our elected and appointed to ignore the Constitution.
Barack Obama is NOT a natural born citizen.
He was never eligible to be President.
Would they have voted for a pot-smoking crypto-gay atheist marxist *slam-loving America-hating traitor?
The media told them he was a “committed Christian” and that he was born in the USA and that he loved it and wasn’t a m*slim, etc.
If pretty-face airhead Alejandra runs, the media will run thousands of articles detailing how moderate and reasonable and smart she is.
The color of the Fraud’s skin was more important than character, or anything else.
And yet they do, repeatedly vote for people who are effectively Socialists and espouse socialist policies.
So is “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in effect, or are a vast number of American voters so stupid that they cannot identify an obvious Socialist if the candidate doesn’t self-identify as one?
Obama didn't run as a Socialist the first time. He ran as a moderate.
Second, he was put in office for his SKIN COLOR. Everyone wanted to prove that Americans weren't racist by putting the first Black man into the White House. I heard that comment over and over, before, during and after Obama left office.....and I believe it was a "programmed" response after decades of Democrats spewing their race baiting propaganda.
They thought they could drag Clinton over the finish line using the same tactic of their feminists propaganda. Thankfully, for America, it didn't work.
The unknowing truth is that we have been voting for socialist/ new world order candidates from 1988 until 2016. Even at that, the socialist did win the popular vote.
Blinded by hate, our domestic enemies only care about PARTY, and whatever “truth” is supplied TODAY by Big Media.
