This should have been Tactic #1 from the very start.

Tactic #1 was the correct one to get started with, rapidly deporting illegals that were already under deportation orders.
Deportation of those that can quickly be deported continues, the checking of employees has been going on at the same time. These things need to be done as DHS and ICE is geared up to do them, and that is what is being done.
Our immigration laws are now being enforced, it is not easy to do that when the whole system has been set up to not enforce the laws.
True, but often the illegals hand over fake documents, and as long as they are reasonable facsimiles of real ones, it is illegal for employers to challenge them—or discriminate based on them.
