The Cohen Tapes: Trump’s Watergate?
The New American ^ | 25 July 2018 | Steve Byas

Posted on 07/25/2018 2:31:56 PM PDT by detective

Appearing on CNN Tuesday with Chris Cuomo, Michael Cohen lawyer Lanny Davis argued that the tape he gave to CNN, which had just been played to the viewers by Cuomo, proved “the truth is on our side.” Davis is well known for his extremely close ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton.

The tape includes a discussion between then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and his then-lawyer Michael Cohen on several issues, including the request of the New York Times to unseal Trump’s divorce records involving Trump’s first wife, Ivana, and other matters. The tape also includes a discussion of the issue of the allegations of Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, that she had an affair with Trump years ago.

Why is Cohen choosing slime ball and Clinton operative Lanny Davis as his attorney?

Because Cohen's such a slime-ball that Davis is the only one slimy enough to take the job.

Conversations between an attorney and client are private and privileged. Cohen is violating every legal code of ethics by taping these conversations without his clients knowledge and by making them public.

Trump waived attorney-client privilege as to the Cohen tapes, after the Special Master found they were privileged and couldn't go to the prosecutors.

Cohen, however, still might be in danger of legal ethics charges for taping Trump without Trump's knowledge. But that would not keep the tapes out of evidence if they're ever offered in a courtroom.

“Watergate was Nixon tapping his opponent’s campaign phones.”

Nixon had literally nothing to do with the break in at DNC headquarters. Nixon had no reason to tap O’Brien’s phones or break into his office. Nixon was out of town when it happened. It was stupid and Nixon was far too intelligent to be involved in it.

The DNC phones were never tapped. Police went through and found no electronic devices. Months later another examination found devices which had been planted and were useless for surveillance.

Either Jeb Magruder or John Dean ordered the break in. Most probably John Dean. Dean knew about it from the beginning.

Dean was asked by Nixon to write a summary of the Watergate break in. Dean realized that if he was forced to do so he would incriminate himself. It was then that Dean used his connections to work with the Democrats to frame Nixon.

They keep throwing crap on the wall and something has to stick. At this point, nobody cares anymore. I had expected this new ‘crisis’ and filed with all of the other BS. They keep trying to find something to compare him wuth Nixon, but Obama was more like Nixon in terms of abuse of power (IRS, misue of the IC, etc.)

He was discussing with his lawyer about potential courses of action, presumably to determine what is legal and what is not. That is one of the main reasons people hire lawyers. This is so much bull crap, that I am just about ready to storm the Bastille! (figuratively, I mean, I am 58).

Nope.
Our counter to CNN and the rest of the ‘tards: Kennedy, Kennedy (repeat a few more times), Clinton (and his protecting wife).
Trump is high class compared to these trailor park boys.
Oh, and no Trump women have died either.

Even if it proves Trump somehow violated campaign finance laws... I just don’t care. I learned how not to care about things like that from the Democrats.

““Why is Cohen choosing slime ball and Clinton operative Lanny Davis as his attorney?”
He believes it’s his best shot at avoiding jail.”

Cohen’s only shot at avoiding jail is a pardon from President Trump. Lanny Davis and the Clinton slime balls will use him and then see he is locked away for life.

Or more likely have him killed.

Cohen will be one more statistic in the Clinton body count.

Watergate was a crime. What Trump is alleged to have said, is not a crime. Cohen and Davis may have committed a crime.

OP: “Why is Cohen choosing slime ball and Clinton operative Lanny Davis as his attorney?”

TTR: “He believes it’s his best shot at avoiding jail.”

You: “Wrong” or “Lanny Davis and the Clinton slime balls will use him and then see he is locked away for life.”

++++

Note the phrase “he believes” in my post.

I didn’t say he was correct in his belief.

Subtle, but key distinction.

Jim Robinson wrote: Watergate was Nixon tapping his opponent’s campaign phones. So, Trump wire tapped Clinton’s campaign? Hmmm.... no, that was Obama wire tapping Trump’s campaign on Clinton’s behalf. But even the dreaded RUSSKIES who were accused of hacking the election only did only minor hacks during the Campaign! They did so at the behest of the DNC, DebWashShorts & FBI DOJ Obama, HRC, etc. Vlad wanted Clinton to walk all over as POTUS, he ain't stupid...

Watergate???

Isnt this Cohen deal all about an ALLEGED affair Trump may have had YEARS before he ever ran for office?

Seems to me that:
A. Bill Clinton made Presidential infidelity “no big deal”..

B. I repeat - YEARS before he ever ran for office.

These dems are childish and delusional.

...oh, and trying to cover their network of corruption along with republican establishment types.

I assumed you were saying that is what Cohen believes.

My post said that if Cohen continues he will probably either end up in prison or part of the Clinton body count.

Here is my reply:

“Cohen’s only shot at avoiding jail is a pardon from President Trump. Lanny Davis and the Clinton slime balls will use him and then see he is locked away for life.

Or more likely have him killed.

Cohen will be one more statistic in the Clinton body count.”

This is a terrible article. It gives long time Clinton hatchet man Davis a pass. It is written fraudulently and withholds key facts.
