BERLIN (Reuters) - The European Unions budget commissioner suggested on Wednesday the bloc would be ready to discuss mutual tariff cuts with the United States across a range of products, provided Washington lifts recent punitive tariffs first.

What do you mean winning? Didn't you hear, the former "Republican" governor of New Jersey in 1973 or whenever thinks President Trump should resign right now!
Let's focus, like the MSM, on things that really matter!/s
Oh the weeping and wailing that will take place now, that mean old Trump!
Like we always said, FAIR TRADE.
Evidently it wasn’t too much to ask for after all.
The EU guy wants the U.S. to remove the tariffs before starting negotiations in about six months. Those negotiations would go nowhere.
Fair trade is imposing the same tariffs on similar products. Free trade is no tariffs on anything.
Trump is meeting with EU officials today at the WH. Let’s wait and see what comes of that before we throw out the baby with the bathwater. That the EU would make a statement pre-meeting is significant - they could just have said ‘no deal’ but it appears some meaningful negotiation may be served for lunch instead.
provided Washington lifts recent punitive tariffs first. They still think they have the upper hand.
Our President is a seasoned negotiator but not sure how good a dancer he is?
Tariffs go down together or turn off the music.
And when negotiating with the Euros you also have to deal with their regulation heavy bureaucracy. They have bans in place on many GMO grains and products which might contain GMO product as well as guidelines on size, shape and color of some agricultural products. Those are called non-tariff barriers, they are as effective as an outright ban and the EU just loves them to death.
Go, Trump! MAGA!!
F that.
It’s only a matter of time when Trump improves the trade imbalances since it’s so lopsided. It’s like being at the bottom where you can only go up.
Ok, raise the tariff Mr Trump.
To all Free Republic Free Traitors, IN YOUR FACE.
Counter proposal. ...
It’s an easy solution by lifting tariffs simultaneously.
How ‘bout that
I look at the negotiations between the E.U., and the U.K. over Brexit to see how much they can be trusted to negotiate in a fair, and open manner. NOT!
I’m certain none of us need tell our President how to negotiate with the Eurobastards.
The EU trade negotiator's statement is nothing but a suggestion to go back to the pre-tariff conditions with a vague promise that they would talk in the fall and maybe...maybe...reach an understanding.
The president already postponed the tariffs once before on the first of May and that postponement was met with threats from the EU:

Our President is a good negotiator. This "nothing burger" the Euros threw our way is simply a request for another postponement, a request which is not likely to fall on tender hearts at this point.
I was also pointing out the dishonest headline by Reuters, an organization famous for them.
“The European Unions budget commissioner suggested on Wednesday the bloc would be ready to discuss mutual tariff cuts with the United States across a range of products, provided Washington lifts recent punitive tariffs first.”
No, you cut YOUR tariffs concurrent with our cuts or else NO DEAL you Eurowanking jerk!!!
“I dont think that PDJT will fall for this. It sounds like the Dems promising budget cuts to Reagan if he would raise some tax rates first. “
I’m good with lifting the punishing tariffs first. But the implementation has to take place on the agreed upon date.
And then the buereaucratic stall will begin anew...
Nah, it's more like kids that are shocked when the parents want them to pay a fair rent.
