I'm still a Republican, but we need to vote in a Democratic Congress (Whitman confidant Steinberg)
Newark Star-Ledger ^ | July 15, 2018 | Alan J. Steinberg

By Alan J. Steinberg

As a "Never Trump" author and governmental veteran, I feel that the most concise and accurate summary of the nightmare of Trumpism was given recently by the renowned conservative historian Max Boot in the Washington Post:

"The current GOP still has a few resemblances to the party of old -- it still cuts taxes and supports conservative judges. But a vote for the GOP in November is also a vote for egregious obstruction of justice, rampant conflicts of interest, the demonization of minorities, the debasement of political discourse, the alienation of America's allies, the end of free trade and the appeasement of dictators."

In New Jersey Republicans are undocumented Democrats.

It’s all about making sure we do not reverse the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).

25 Oct 2016: Newark Star-Ledger: Alan J. Steinberg: I’m a Reaganite who served under Bush and Whitman: I’m voting Clinton | Opinion
Unfortunately, due to the alt-right hostile takeover of the Republican Party in 2016, the GOP candidate is Donald Trump, a contemptible national negative exemplar of bigotry, misogyny, nativism and issue illiteracy. His authoritarian nature will make him a mortal threat to civil liberty and our constitutional system of government...

In the words of New York Times conservative columnist Ross Douthat, Trump is a proto-fascist grotesque with zero political experience and poor impulse control. It is not enough for his Republican critics like me to not vote for him. We must vote for Clinton to ensure his defeat...

My perspective on her is a unique one in that I dealt with her in my capacity as a high-ranking Republican in the George W. Bush administration. She was then serving as the U.S. senator from New York, while I served as Region 2 Environmental Protection Agency administrator...
She had a deep, genuine interest in the environment, and she was always most appreciative when I would brief her on subjects as to which she was unfamiliar, such as the Filtration Avoidance Determination for New York City water...

My Republican Hillary Clinton experience gives me hope and optimism regarding a forthcoming Clinton presidency. I believe it will be an administration of bipartisan accomplishment and national reconciliation.

Dumbass lefty, this is everything the Obama administration stirred up or perpetrated like a freaking criminal organization. If he hadn’t instigated the stinking mess in race relations, minorities wouldn’t be feeling “demonized”. If they would grow up and start becoming productive citizens a lot of current problems would be resolved.

Total delusion and extremely poor analysis skillz.

Likely a case of dementia.

Certainly not one to treasure and promote Personal Liberty.

The “Nightmare” of Trumpism:

Lowest unemployment in history
North Korea destroying missile and nuclear test sites
Rebuilding the military
Economy booming
Employers training workers
Illegals being caught at the border
Real tariffs on incoming goods
No race riots
Iran put in their place
5G being implemented
Wages increasing and bonuses awarded
More home ownership

I wonder of he included Footnotes in the Article to explain each point he thinks he made?
