It is the greatest political crime. It is the political crime of the century. I have no idea where you’re coming from.

“I have no idea where you’re coming from.”

You know exactly where I’m coming from.

The Democrats are protected by the equal powers doctrine. Because the crimes are political, they aren’t handled the same way as civil crimes.

Think about it. The DOJ makes indictments and arrests, and begins prosecuting ex Obama officials. If it were a civil crime, the entire process would be handled by the court system. But in the case of political crimes, the DOJ is part of the executive branch - the executive branch of a Republican administration.

The legislature has an oversight role and based on that, they can and will object to the charges on the basis of political bias and motivation. The judicial branch would weigh in as well. Neither of the other two coequal branches would be comfortable wth the executive branch of one administration prosecuting alleged crimes of a prior administration.

It would be reduced to a shouting match and the Left would win because they control the press.

Wait and see if I’m right or wrong.

There is a point that pragmatisim becomes cowerdice. I think the test for an incomING administration prosecuting an outgoing administration should be high, gargantuan even. I would have thought it impossible for any one to meet such a standard a few short years ago. The crime here is so vast that “it’s too hard or messy to prosecute” has no more force than to have said “D-Day is a nice idea but it would be a bloodbath”. You’re quite right it would be one hell of a mess, but it’s better that those in authority do it rather then We the People because THAT would be a bloodbath...

Right. Well, to be honest, I’d LOVE to see these traitors strung up - but if the American people of today don’t have the stomach for it (which they don’t) - it doesn’t seem fair to expect Trump to do it anyway and call him a coward if he doesn’t.

The analogy use is whipping kids with a belt for discipline. I raised six kids born between 1978 and 1988, the two youngest got spanked a few times but not hard and certainly not with a belt. I didn’t even get whipped with a belt in the 50’s but I’m sure my dad did in the 1920’s. Spankings were going the way of the dodo bird and when there is a societal change you kind of have to go with it or you might actually get locked up for child abuse. We still threatened the spankings though and got some miliage out of that. We had to threaten them with being grounded or loss of privileges. I really think there are times a good trip to the woodshed and whipping with a belt like the old days would be good for a kid - but I’m not going to risk getting charged with child abuse. Go ahead, call me a coward for succumbing to the kinder gentler parenting.

So it’s the same with hanging these currupt bastards for treason. Ain’t gonna happen. That went the way of the dodo bird a long time ago. I like Trump so I’m not going to pile on calling him or Sessions a coward for not doing something that the American people no longer have the stomach for.

Face it, no politician is getting hung for treason - probably no jail time either. Not a politician - not for treason. Now you will still see low level operatives go to jail but it will likely be something non political like tax evasion, money laundering, theft or whatever.

I mean seriously, do you really think Clinton will go to jail? It doesn’t matter who is AG - it’s just not happening (I wish I were wrong)
