“I have no idea where you’re coming from.”

You know exactly where I’m coming from.

The Democrats are protected by the equal powers doctrine. Because the crimes are political, they aren’t handled the same way as civil crimes.

Think about it. The DOJ makes indictments and arrests, and begins prosecuting ex Obama officials. If it were a civil crime, the entire process would be handled by the court system. But in the case of political crimes, the DOJ is part of the executive branch - the executive branch of a Republican administration.

The legislature has an oversight role and based on that, they can and will object to the charges on the basis of political bias and motivation. The judicial branch would weigh in as well. Neither of the other two coequal branches would be comfortable wth the executive branch of one administration prosecuting alleged crimes of a prior administration.

It would be reduced to a shouting match and the Left would win because they control the press.

Wait and see if I’m right or wrong.

There is a point that pragmatisim becomes cowerdice. I think the test for an incomING administration prosecuting an outgoing administration should be high, gargantuan even. I would have thought it impossible for any one to meet such a standard a few short years ago. The crime here is so vast that “it’s too hard or messy to prosecute” has no more force than to have said “D-Day is a nice idea but it would be a bloodbath”. You’re quite right it would be one hell of a mess, but it’s better that those in authority do it rather then We the People because THAT would be a bloodbath...
