Hilde Hall says she went straight from her doctor's office in April to a CVS pharmacy in her Phoenix suburb, eager to fill her first hormone therapy prescription.
The treatment would spur the physical changes in Hall's body that would reflect her identity as a transgender woman, she said.

If a person came in with script for a med they should not have been prescribed, the pharmacist filled it and the person died, what then?
Same thing with opiate abuse.
It’s more important to be kind...
than to be right.
You are right. He’s a guy and he might be sick, but these are the ones that Jesus come here and died for. Gods love extends to these guys too. If we show that instead of the constant stream of insults then maybe they would seek the light. Instead because we are stingy with tolerance we drive them away from it.
Bigot: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance.
Lets try at least to not be like the democrats in this respect. Because there are a multitude of people who are trying to #WalkAway from the democrats. Lets give them a place to go alright?
So even if you disagree with his politics or his life choices. CVS would be well within the bounds of proper corporate culture to have a long talk with this pharmacist about his attitude towards serving their customers.
“If a person came in with script for a med they should not have been prescribed”
what part of Quietly, With Compassion and Humility did you not get?
I can think of several reasons.
what part of Quietly, With Compassion and Humility did you not get?
In this case im on the side of this CVS Customer. Its really not any of the pharmacists business if the guys trying to be a girl. He has his job to do and hes paid to fill that legal prescription.
Me too. It’s absolutely none of the pharmacy’s business what ANY drug is for. Fill my darn prescription and shut the heck up!
“I have a hard time believing that this event happened exactly as described.”
That could be the case and you’re probably right.
But it still doesnt address the stream of bigotry that gets channeled into this forum. It’s kind of ugly in an otherwise wholesome environment.
A completely reasonable reaction to being prescribed a medication or substance that was anti-ethical to ones well-being.
Sounds like it was embarrassed by it's own decisions.
Nooooo....you did that all by yourself when you showed up in a dress.
It’s a good thing that this customer could complain to big corporation in order to have that pharmacist fired. How kind of CVS.
This pharmacist can open up his own store and serve customers with kindness by helping them to heal their physical and mental illnesses.
Define kindness.
And please curb the attitude.
“Embarrassed and distressed, I nearly started crying in the middle of the store,”
Yep. He’s a GIRL, alright; like Pajama Boy is a GIRL!
These crazy, crazy people!
Change pharmacies Nit or are you trying to make a stand for people such as yourself.
If the trans account of the incident is true. I do not believe a word of it.
CVS should fill perscriptions period, not ask why they were prescribed, unless it was to give advice on how to take them. Which doesnt apply here. (Some meds are taken at the first sign of symptoms)
And this is a protected group, so CVS will be paying for this persons meds and car and maybe mortgage for some time. This is a juicy case.
As usual, we are only hearing one side of the story.
CVS fired the guy, so I must assume they know more than the story lets on. It will be interesting of the fired Employee Sues CVS over being fired.
There are Medical Privacy Laws in place. My best guess is the Pharmacist asked the Customer a question about the Prescription and the Customer was offended and got loud, but it’s only a guess based on historical observation of Liberal Uncivility in Public by turning a molehill into a mountain.
I’ve never been to Phoenix but I’m pretty sure they have more than just the one pharmacy.
“In a statement to CNN, CVS said the pharmacist violated company policies and is no longer employed.”
Take a stand, lose a job, provide a job opening for another pharmacist.
sigourney weaver has really gone to pot.
