I only clicked on Townhall. ;0)
Richmond County, NY is Staten Island — the most conservative part of the city.
The borough of Brooklyn (”the fourth largest city in America” — and New York would still be first without it) is technically Kings County.
The reason each of the five boroughs has the utterly useless (and essentially powerless) office of “Borough President” is that New York state law requires that every county must have a county executive, even though the five counties — New York (Manhattan), Bronx, Queens, Kings (Brooklyn), and Richmond (Staten Island) — are all subsumed in the City of New York under the Greater New York Act of 1898 (which only passed in Brooklyn — Kings County — by a couple of hundred votes.)
I like it....thanks.
The electoral college system makes more americans votes relevant and have weight than a popular vote. Plain and simple and thats what the founders wanted.
Socialist demand we follow rules when they are good for them, and demand we change rules that aren’t favorable to them.
Vox is consistent at least. Trump won because of that pesky Constitution they’re trying so hard to get rid of.
The Framers thoroughly understood that democracy was an AWFUL system for running a government, doomed to certain failure. They gave us one nod toward democracy popular election of House members and that was all.
Then we allowed the Progressives to screw everything up with the 17th Amendment, giving the Senate over to the popular vote instead of serving their home states exclusively. We need to repeal the 17th.
Crime rates by county. Sorry, I didn’t realize that the text fell off when I linked.
Got it
