Llano residents showed just how caring their community is by stepping up and donating much-needed supplies to the crews tirelessly fighting a large brush fire. During the early morning hours Thursday, the Llano County Office of Emergency Management said it needed more than 500 gallons of gasoline for the firefighters. Craig Wade and many of his neighbors fulfilled that request in a matter of hours, dropping off containers of gas to the Llano Volunteer Fire Department. "I figured if they're out there doing the hard work and volunteering, the least we could do is bring them some gas or water or whatever they need," Wade said. Later in the day, the fire station filled with food, water and other drinks after more people donated those items. Aaron Mittelstaedt filled his truck bed with bottles of Gatorade for the exhausted firefighters. It was his second trip to drop off supplies at the fire station this week. Without them, I probably wouldn't have a house right now.

Llano county has two wildfires burning 2000 acres and are now mostly contained. 40 agencies involved including A&M. Due to weather temps around 110 degrees and the dryness, firefighters are reporting live trees away from the fire are bursting into flames.
Shouldn’t they largely have Diesel Equipment?

Probably. It’s volunteer so they likely have a bit of this and a bit of that.
Fighting fire with gasoline. Must be a new technique.
I’m surprised mesquite trees don’t spontaneously combust in this heat, as flammable as they are.
Backfire implements ?
Backfire implements ?
Most likely for the brush trucks. There are other ways to backlight a blaze.
“Thought we needed a somewhat feel good thread.”
Yes, this is what being a “real American” comes down to. GB the good “Country folks” in Texas, showing the rest of the country what it means to be a good neighbor and an American! Hat’s off to all!
This is how rural Texas works, not so much in our big cities.
