Half right. You do indeed have to have a valid FOID to purchase firearms or ammunition in IL. But no FFL holder I’m aware of cares about where you live.

My home town straddles Cook and DuPage counties. My County isn’t on my FOID nor is it on my CCL. No one has ever said “I can’t sell you this rifle because you live in Cook County.”

Not once. Ever.

Don’t get me wrong. I agree this clown should go away for selling to a felon.

Since you live in Illinois and I do not, I will defer to your personal experience.

However, your county does go on the 4473 you fill out with your rifle purchase.
