Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona lashed out at President Donald Trump on Wednesday for Trump's recent comments about NATO's collective defense obligations.
In an interview with Fox News on Tuesday evening, in response to a question by host Tucker Carlson, Trump echoed Carlson's concerns about whether the U.S. should defend a small country like Montenegro if it were to come under attack. McCain, who is known to be hawkish on Russia, accused Trump of toeing the Kremlin line.
The people of #Montenegro boldly withstood pressure from #Putins Russia to embrace democracy. The Senate voted 97-2 supporting its accession to #NATO. By attacking Montenegro & questioning our obligations under NATO, the President is playing right into Putins hand, McCain tweeted on Wednesday, the day after Trumps interview.

So a dead nato would be a bad thing? Heck, virtually all of Western Europe is soon to be islamist controlled. Why should they be provided with an ongoing stream of military hardware?
If he is well enough to keep up with events and make all these comments he needs to get back to work.
Imagine most people calling in sick to work and then commenting on everything going on...am sure their boss would begin to think they weren’t that sick...
I am sure his family or staff are saying things in his name but there are days when I wonder if he is under house arrest...
It must suck to be out of the loop and not to know that NATO is growing stronger with real manly leadership from the US.
EABODADIAF, scumbag.
Economic leaders of some of the European nations have worsened NATO relations for a long time with their sponsorship of media propaganda against Americans and their efforts to push their politicians against the U.S.A.
Dead Man Tweeting.
I wonder who is really writing these statements; Meghan, Cindy or one of his Deep State Warmongering globalist Senate Aides.
Or maybe it is a group effort.... sometimes it takes a committee to write stuff so stupid.
I don’t doubt it..
You make an excellent point, my good FRiend.
Here is Mister McCain's only chance to leave the impression of a wise elder, a true Conservative, with our very fine Country's future the center of his waning thoughts.
Instead, he voted to save (ugh) obamacare, and has been trying to settle a score w Trump at every turn. (This veteran writes this believing most strongly that DJT erred in a major way when he stated...Hes not a war hero. Hes a war hero because he was captured. I like people who werent captured.)
That aside the Country should come first; and McCain looked better in the exchange.
McCain, however, is choosing to look like a bitter, vindictive, short-sighted fool; and coupled with his "reach across the aisle" history, his friendship with the Ted of Chappaquiddick fame, and his open borders positions will, sadly, go into that dark night having little in the way of friends or supporters from among us grass roots Conservatives.
(Even worse, Soros just complimented him.)
Does InSain have another Dossier on Trump?
McCain knows all about helping the enemy, in fact he is the go to guy!
This guy is never going to die.
Figger’d it out ....the deep state in the ghost of McLettuce’s name are tweeting the rino never Trumpers message
Did he tweet on national TV? How do we know he is even lucid?

I don’t believe John McCain is saying anything, if he is still alive at all.
how did Montenegro even get accepted into Nato? Why has it grown to 29 (?) countries, and how many of those are incapable of defending themselves from the start, much less defending others?
+1
John “Bernie” McCain.
Dead or incapacitated. I think you are right on this.
