RT America ^ | Nov 3, 2017 | William Binney, former NSC expert

Posted on 07/18/2018 4:54:57 PM PDT by raiderboy

NSA veteran and whistleblower Bill Binney says that it is technically impossible for Russia to have hacked the election and that behind-the-scenes forces within the US have fabricated the “Russian hackers” narrative from the very beginning.

The same information has been posted in numerous media and Mr. Binneys qualifications are unquestionably solid.

Now how about the point?

I’m not engaging with you over RTs credibility as a source.

I’m interested in the factuality or counterfactuality of the information.

From more legitimate Amerioan sources that do simply repeat and cite RT as their source for this story, it can get a fair hearing.

I'm sorry, what? You mean those American news sources that take FBI propaganda feeds as "news" from an anonymous source? Those American news sources sho pay the FBI with meals, game tickets, and private parties? The American news sources who themselves employ FBI agents and ex-CIA in a quid-pro-quo? Those news sources?

“I’m interested in the factuality or counterfactuality of the information.”

Then find a U.S. source, that does not quote RT as it’s source, and to that I would tell you what I thought of it.

MY CONCERN IS, whether you like it not, the question of the legitimacy of using RT.

If the rest of us can type a few words into google and do our own due diligence why can’t you?

NO. there are non-ABC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC/NBC/NPR/NYTimes/WaPost/ect/ect Conservative minded American venues for covering this story, and I think one or more of them have already previously done so.

Well said by one involved on a daily basis. Binney actually measures the transfer rate from New Jersey to Scotland, It was 12 MPS , 25% of the data transfer rate required AND it would have mitigated badly into Easter Europe, as you know. There is NO WAY this data was internet hacked. I surmise that that was fabricated to divert from the reality that an insider was involved who was furious over the absolute fact that Bernie Sanders was getting intentionally screwed by the DNC. It was so embarrassing to the DNC that they FIRED the CHAIR WOMAN!! You cant make this up. This indictment is in shreds!!

I like it just fine. But if your only contribution to the discussion is to attack the source as unreliable, you’re not contributing anything to the discussion.

I could point out that Raiderboy is a known troll, but that wouldn’t add anything of value to the discussion either, would it?

Supporting RT supports whatever propaganda they do put out. As you yourseldf noted, this story HAS American sources for it already. No one needs to get it from RT.

Sorry, commenting on the suitability of sources is always a legitmate matter on any thread; whether it bugs someone or not. A thread is not a subject restricted to the title of the article it comes from; it is about the source as well. Who on FreeRep would dare so no one can comment on the Washington Post as a source of a thread? No one. THAT is separate from content, but it is legitimate to comment on it.

I don’t know, and that’s the truth...

I do know that the validity of the information presented is more important than the reputation of the presenter.

Not arguing with you about the "value" of RT. I was simply cautioning against discounting Binney's statements and findings if one were to discount him based solely on his appearance on RT.

We've gotten to the point on FR where an appearance by a knowledgeable expert on any topic happens on a source other posters don't like, those posters automatically discount the expert for that.

Again, just cautioning all who read this post from doing that to Binney. He's a foremost expert on this topic.

Don’t agree with the people worrying about RT as the source. They’re no more or less credible than anyone else. Every alleged fact should stand on its own or not.

I already have, that is why I know RT is not needed. But do your work for you? No.

This story is months old and I am sure you can find in posts from months ago right here on FreeRep and in threads that did not use RT as the source. Quit complaining.

I suspect that those attacking are
“government”. Want to bet? This is a dggeer in the heart of this bogus indictment and there are propagandists here and we see them all the time. Many just “pop up”. No substance, just peripheral sniping. This fact of data speed is HUGE!!

CIA Director Mike Pompeo met late last month with a former U.S. intelligence official who has become an advocate for a disputed theory that the theft of the Democratic National Committee’s emails during the 2016 presidential campaign was an inside job, rather than a hack by Russian intelligence.

Pompeo met on October 24 with William Binney, a former National Security Agency official-turned-whistleblower who co-authored an analysis published by a group of former intelligence officials that challenges the U.S. intelligence community’s official assessment that Russian intelligence was behind last year’s theft of data from DNC computers. Binney and the other former officials argue that the DNC data was “leaked,” not hacked, “by a person with physical access” to the DNC’s computer system.

“I was simply cautioning against discounting Binney’s statements”

It seems to me that you too KNOW the RT is not needed for as a source for this story, because you too have gotten from other sources.

Yet you refuse to suggest any caution to FreeRep readers about using RT as a source. Sorry, I think that caution is necessary regardless of the content of a single article. It is sill a Kremlin controlled organ, no matter what.

See: Babylon Bee

I didn’t question your right to post what you please. I asked if you had issues with the information presented, then subsequently stated that your observations on the suitability of RT as a source were valueless TO ME.

You want to argue over that, go ahead.
