I don’t disagree with your follow-on comments.
My problem with him is that he plays it up that he’s on your side. So you put him in a position of authority. He’s a spokesman of sorts for Trump.
Then when folks think he’s an insider, he pops off like this.
Then the media plays it up that he’s an insider, a staunch support of Trump, who he himself can’t even put up with the tragic mistakes Trump has made.
It makes me furious when he does this. He’s done it at critical times for several decades.
Enough of this guy.
That’s fair. My greatest disappointment with Newt was in 2012, when I still had hopes he would knock out Romney. He came to our city and I got to meet him briefly, just one of the crowd, nothing special. I could see in his eyes - with utter clarity - he had no intention of winning. It was all theater.
