French celebrations over the national football teams World Cup victory on Sunday quickly turned to violence, with street clashes, vandalism, attacks on police, and scenes of looting in cities across the country. As many as a million people had been enjoying the good-natured atmosphere at an event on the Champs-Élysées in Paris following Frances 4-2 win against Croatia, which ministers had hoped would bring a great moment of national unity.
But by 11 pm the jubilant mood had turned to chaos, with what local media describes as bands of thugs launching projectiles including bottles at police, who responded by firing tear gas while the area was evacuated.
Ordinary football fans fled the streets when violence first broke out earlier in the evening, with troublemakers even launching empty glass bottles at families with children, according to Le Figaro, which reported that scenes of vandalism and looting broke out including a kiosk set alight and the destruction of numerous cars.

I don’t get it. So your team won the final soccer game, let’s go out and destroy the city we’re so proud of.
Good grief!
Think of it as the 'utes enacting out an economic stimulus package. Boon to auto insurance and auto manufacturing.
Broken Window Theory, in action.
Did you see the parade when the Eagles tge blood and soul of philly won ?
It was A FREAKING MAZING
no violence. 100% good cheers and celebrating
Thousands were putting the ashes of grandparents and fathers on the parade route
The Kelce speech in the mummers outfit was increíble
THAT was a TRUE LONG AWAITED VICTORY CELEBRATION
(And now back to being the rudest fans ever )
Hey the Phils are in first !
Me either...it's nuts.
I winder how many cars were burned in the celebration. Insurance must be astronomical in France.
One thing I noticed watching the celebrations along the Champs d’Elysees......very few females in the crowd.
Meanwhile in Zagreb, crowds were cheering their team afterwards even though they lost, no violence.
Dang, sounds like Morgantown, West Virginia on a Saturday night on the Fall.
“I’ve never understood the mindset”
This problem is all over the boards today. The best way to look at it is that any time a country allows criminal violence and destruction and calls it a celebration, the only phrase that comes to mind is that the inmates are in charge of the asylum. It’s kind of like kissing at new years, saying “bless you” after someone sneezes, and the one I hate, someone saying “thank you for your service” when it is obvious they don’t give a $hit. Lousy things like this just became popular because it is seen all the time in news or social media so they do it, right or wrong.
Humans have been led around by media for so long that they trust everything they say, do, or “lead” you to believe. And they lie like a rug. But it’s on TV, it must be right. And everything on the web is true, isn’t it? Ask some pre-teen kids about sites and they will swear by them. Some literally.
We’ve really lost our intelligence as a whole. And half the cause of its spread is the media. The other half belongs to people that allow it to happen in their homes with their families being used like doormats. And we let the educated(?) raise our kids into this robot status. Welcome to socialism. It’s alive and living in your home. Chase it out! (If you can.

Yeah, wonder why.(not really) Maybe the know it’s just asking to be gang raped by the ‘utes.
Barbarians!
Yup,
Living in Los Angeles, I’mused to this when the Lakers or Dodgers win.
And as I predicted, no violence, mutual respect, not even excessive bad language around the kids though one a-hole did light up a joint right next to them. So glad I went to it.
Your full of it. They did not. Yes a handful of drunk guys at one corner jumped on an awning and it collapsed, so did a traffic light. And one guy ate poop. That's it. That's a riot? The next morning everything was already fixed.
This is what happens when you train people to be non-productive parasites.
