Establishment GOP donors in Tennessee resisting Marsha Blackburn's Senate campaign
Washington Examiner ^ | 7-14-18 | David M. Drucker

Rep. Marsha Blackburn is meeting resistance from wealthy Republican donors in Tennessee, an establishment-oriented crowd more comfortable with former Gov. Phil Bredesen, the conservative firebrand’s Democratic opponent in the state’s competitive, closely watched Senate race. Republican financiers, titans of industry in Tennessee, are still gloomy about the retirement of Sen. Bob Corker, a conservative pragmatist. Many are sitting on their wallets as the crucial, 100-day mark to the midterm elections approaches. After a lifetime raising millions of dollars for GOP causes and candidates, some are even donating to Bredesen, whom they view as a centrist who will buck Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. “He’s been somebody who is not partisan who gets things done. That appeals to me and to many other Republicans. We want somebody who is not an ideologue and not going to be partisan,” Tom Cigarran, a veteran GOP donor in Nashville, told the Washington Examiner Friday in a telephone interview. “Marsha Blackburn just isn’t that. She does not have a record of doing anything other than being a partisan ideologue.”

Axios/Survey Monkey. I also bet you didn’t know that the survey monkey polls actually have more than a 4 point D bias. The fact that Marsha is up so high in this poll is fantastic news.

They called all but 4 2016 Senate races correctly. In the 4 that they were wrong on, FL, MO, NC, and PA they incorrectly had the Democrat in the lead.

They have a D bias.

I love the fact that you would rather tout a poll from months ago because it supports your “sky is falling” never Trump agenda. You have been desperately shilling for Democrats and a “blue wave” for months now.

Since you are desperately clinging to older polls, why don’t you talk about Florida, where Scott has lead 3 of the last 4 polls by 3-5 points in each.

Or North Dakota where Mason Dixon AND Axios have Cramer in the lead.

You just want the sky to fall because it makes you feel giddy inside.

"They are big trouble in Tennessee as Blackburn is down by double digits."

I don't know where you got that malarkey from. She is AHEAD by at least a dozen points. Nobody rational in this state believes Bredesen will win. He's barely been seen lately.

That’s merely a testament to having open primaries with Democrats voting for the most left-wing RINO. That could be changed and we could finally get the non-RINO elected officials that actually reflect the Conservative voting base.

“They are big trouble in Tennessee as Blackburn is down by double digits.”

Say WHAT?

“A poll released by Axios-Survey Monkey on Tuesday shows that Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) leads Democrat Phil Bredesen by 14 points in the U.S. Senate general election, 55 percent to 41 percent among registered voters.

Among likely voters, Blackburn’s lead over Bredesen is even greater, 58 percent to 40 percent.”

“Likely or Very Likely voters are the only polls to even consider.

RCP is is a complete waste of anyone’s time.

“Governor’s race appears very competitive - Diane Black/Randy Boyd/Bill Lee/Beth Harwell on the GOP side, I guess Karl Dean on the Dem side, plus a slew of Libertarians and Independents.”

Guess I need to do some research on Randy Boyd. Mike Huckabee endorsed him. I was hoping Diane Black would win. Do you think she has a chance?

I firmly believe this due a lack of enthusiasm of Trump voters for the Republicans. There is very little difference between the GOPe and the Democrats.

Except about zero Dems vote for any of Trump's agenda.....they may be all too similar but giving up Repub seats would be a stupid move - especially when we finally have a President who fights for us 24/7....

No, you don’t like the truth. You throw a tantrum when people point out that your “blue wave” narrative is a myth.

And you are lying, as I pointed out. Survey Monkey called all but four 2016 Senate races correctly, and where they had a bias, it was always in favor of the Democrat. They four races that they got wrong understated the GOP support.

To throw out a “liberal” label at me, because I am calling you out for your concern trolling is laughable.

Think about what you wrote. If I were a “liberal” “trolling FR” I would be going on thread after thread and claiming that the GOP is doomed. That the GOP has lost “all the special elections” that the GOP is “going to lose the House and the Senate” and that “President Trump will be impeached.”

I would create threads claiming that current GOP candidates are down “double-digits” when in reality they are up.

I’ve not been the one who, in thread after thread, has cried about a “blue wave” that the “Special elections” show that the “GOP is toast.”

I know another poster here who has done all that. In fact, that poster seems to have a specialty in being “concerned” about the GOP.

Whenever someone points out to said poster that the media has grossly overstated the demise of the GOP and that the special elections don’t mean all that much, said poster rants, raves and acts like a child, throwing out invective slurs and ad hominem attacks.

You said I was saying that republicans will lose in 2018. You lie!!!!! Saying a poll company is inaccurate is not saying that we will lose in 2018! You can’t help yourself to lie constantly. It is a mental disease so I suppose I can forgive you but you do need help desperately. I’ll pray for you cus sinning is not good.

Let’s lay out all the cards.

Do you believe that the GOP will keep the House and Senate in 2018?

Yes or no.

You specifically say that you believe that the GOP Is going to lose the House. Now you are lying and saying that you never said we were going to lose?

You just got caught.

Here is some more of your concern trolling:

I can’t help that you are stupid. I read every one of my posts. I was 100 percent accurate. See unlike you, I don’t lie. You claim that saying we lost 44 seats so far since January 2017 is a terrible thing to say. It’s not. It’s accurate and reality. Do you not believe reality? Do you live in some weird dream world where we won every election since trump became president? Maybe you are further gone then I thought.

No, you are not going to weasel out of your lies. You are caught.

In this thread, you made the claim: “You said I was saying that republicans will lose in 2018. You lie!!!!!”

Yet I pointed out where you said EXACTLY that, that we are going to lose the House in 2018.

You can apologize for lying in this thread, and I will accept it, or you can continue to play pretend and fantasy.
