Trump hasn’t really made much progress on his commitment to drain the Swamp yet. The bureaucratic jackals in DC have surely noticed that and are acting accordingly. They don’t fear him.

I agree with your post, but I think they have made an error underestimating Trump.

He is on a learning curve, and he has made some mistakes and he may make more mistakes.

But, I think there is a reasonable chance he will figure it out and get rid of the nastiest swamp creatures.

The Swamp is full of people just like those three. They are especially dangerous to liberty given the trusted agencies they work in, but they are not unique personalities in DC.

Rosenstein of course a massive Clinton fixer, with his wife having repeatedly represented the whole crew on the Dems side many times.

So who was the clown who recommended him for Trump to nominate? I am thinking it must be Johnny DeStefano, the RNC/GOPe insider with zero previous personnel experience that Priebus got into the admin, who has successfully kept almost all MAGA candidates from admin appointments, and who is still there! (Roger Stone was sounding the alarm on him 18 months ago.)

(I recall Rex being dismayed to learn that rather getting to name his own deputies, such nominations had to come from DeStefano’s office.)

I must agree. The only way out is for Trump to fire this evil prick. Trump is afraid of the blowback but many in congress hate the little creep too. Yeah MSM and the Rats will go throw a fit but it would be an act of patriotism.

Indeed. In the post above yours, for instance.

Thanks for the reply, and you may well be right.

My view is that a leader should never leave people in places where they can undermine, subvert and thwart your agenda. Its Management 101. I have no doubt that Trump knows this, but he has been slow to act and it is hurting him. JMHO.

Those 2 are the top of the iceberg.

At this point, I’d be OK if we completely disbanded the FBI and started over from scratch.

“Republican leadership lacks the balls to do it”

Well, whether or not they have the balls, they don’t have 67 US Senators who would vote to remove him from office. There are probably closer to 67 Senators who would give him a medal than would vote to kick him out.

And, by the way, the fact that Congress (both parties) can’t even defend its own privilege to subpoena documents is just another manifestation of the American Crisis, which is the inability of the People to exercise its sovereignty through elected representatives.

The leadership of BOTH parties is much happier to have the People ruled by orders issued by the Executive and Judicial branches than by laws passed by Congress.

I don’t think the pubbies will impeach and try Rosenstein. But if they do, Chief Justice Roberts will be the judge in the Senate trial, and I suspect he might order all of the documents relevant to Rosenstein’s crimes, and the crimes of others he has been refusing to release, released to the Representatives and their legal team.

That would be a huge ouchie for Rosenstein and everyone in the Obama administration, all the way up to Obama and even President Jarrett.

Only two, wow, that speaks volumes. All Republicans should step up behind this. Democrats would never let this go on if it was reverse situation.

Hec Republicans found Holder in contempt and nothing happened. Just so tired of our party not willing to be pit bulls.

I never quite thought of it that way, you make a very interesting point.

“I hope they don’t even try - they likely don’t have enough support to succeed. Trying and failing at this will only empower him and his like.”

Well, at least it would give him more “face time” in Congress and a chance to “perfect” his smirk!

He is going to get the axe because pressure is coming from the muscle side of the gov’t to do it. They will twist arms strongly of the resisters.

I still think there needs to be a special counsel or high-level investigation into the conspiracy and or treason by these high-level swamp coolers. I would rather see Rosenstein and Miller indicted and arrested. Uranium one, obstruction of justice, collusion with the DNC.

******************

Excellent comment. This, in my opinion, is an extremely important and fundamental point. The representatives of the American people (duly elected through a process which is THE KEYSTONE of our democracy) have been thwarted in their efforts to perform lawful and entirely legitimate oversight responsibilities by arrogant, unelected bureaucrats.

Wosre, these bureaucrats effectively see themselves as an independent fourth branch of government that is unaccountable to the congress, dismissive of the president, and even above the law (e.g., lying to FISA courts).

Yes, the rise of this rogue “agency” constitutes a gravely serious problem for the country right now. We need for the president to address it.

If Trump cannot or will not disband the FBI, then create a brand-new yet fully complete competitor to the FBI under Homeland Security. They will weaken each other in competition for money.

I don’t understand all this impeachment talk, why doesn’t Sessions just fire him. Would take about 3 seconds. “You’re Fired!”

That’s what I have been wondering too. Just give both of them their walking papers. It can’t be that hard.

If Rosenstein is impeached, that would create cover from Trump to fire him.
