Hey Everybody! (and Dearest Jim)!


Jim might kill me for this, but I think Free Republic's quandary needs to be openly addressed. It's a given that Free Republic needs your financial support but we also need additional help with our fund raising efforts.

Jim's FReepathon Team, primarily trisham, MEG33, deoetdoctrinae, Salvation & musicman, with daily posts from jazusamo, ButThreeLeftsDo, JustAmy, xzins, caww, 2ndDivisionVet, all work long hours for months at a time. Sweetest MEG33 and I are not young and both us suffer from bad backs, and are not supposed to sit for long periods of time at our computers.

The FReepathon threads are a lot of fun! Finding and posting graphics is also fun. The more the merrier and the hours are not fixed. It becomes a chore when we're short handed and OLD, SORE & LAME like me.

Our FReepathons used to take 30 days, then they scooted into 45 days and finally into the dreaded 8 weeks or 60+ days. Now, unbelievably, we're into 80+ days! Unreal!

Free Republic's quandary is how to remedy the situation?

Have a look at 2018 and 2017...

We are now into 2018's Q3. Only a mere 5 days separated the conclusion of Q2 on June 25, 2018 and the start of Q3 on July 1, 2018. We came that >< close to a never-ending FReepathon!

How to remedy? Too unfair to ask all you wonderful, generous, FReeper-Patriot Donors to dig deep so soon again! Yet, without very prompt donations, those 80+ day FReepathons will continue indefinitely.

2018 Q2 — 546 donors - 86 days

2018 Q1 — 373 donors - 82 days (is 373 correct?)

2017 Q4 — 542 donors - 74 days

2017 Q3 — 520 donors - 84 days

2017 Q2 — 544 donors - 76 days

2017 Q1 — 572 donors - 63 days




All of us love Free Republic. It's our home! It's the first place we come to in the morning and the last place we visit at night. Free Republic is my Home page. Is it yours?

We have lifetime FRiends here. Besties! Many of us have met in person. We cherish one another. Many of us consider one another family!
